Ok, is it fool proof or should I wait, the connectors can only fit the correct plugs In the engine bay,yes?

Based on the instructions, in looks like the OBD connection is needed for logging and such. But once I have everything set, I can unplug the OBD cable and leave the unit as a "standalone" device in the engine bay w/o having the run the cable through the firewall? Can you please confirm.

The OBDII is used as part of the tuning and should be left attached at all times for maximum performance.
