Default Stinger GT log check - 08-19-2021, 11:25 AM

This was about E25 or so on Map 4. Just want to make sure things look kosher. Thanks. Also, what do you guys think WMI would gain over this map?

I'm no expert by any means, but it appears you have more timing being pulled than is ideal.

My understanding is that ign2-ign6 needs to be under 3 on the timing variation to be on the safe side.

I would agree your timing does not look great. Also do you have the fuel wires installed? Your AFR looks higher then I have see in other logs

Yes I have them installed. I saw wot afr around 11.3 to 11.5 so that seems right. This is map 3 on the same fuel, is this better?

On the Map 4 log the AFR does not drop below 12.1, as you said I would expect 11.5 to 11.8.

The map 3 log does not look much better, you are constantly getting timing deviation over 3, but AFR look more inline with what I have seen

Hmmm...OK. I feel like map 3 should be ok with a hair under e30 it should be fine but I guess not. That is with the rest of the gas being e10 93.

What other mods do you have?

I would also recommend testing the ethanol content of your E85. E85 is "up to" 85% ethanol. It's likely the ethanol content is anywhere from 50-75%.

It has unknown cai's (bought the car used with them), appears to have a secondary *** delete and a muffler delete, bov's open to atmosphere instead of recirc. I think I'll try to add in a touch more e and do another log.

I would check to see if the plugs were changed and what the gap is at as well.

I would be careful not go above E30. The fuel pump doesn't like it and can crash.

I forgot to mention it does have the bms recommended plugs gapped at .026. Here is another log with 1.5 more gallons of e85.

You still have quite a few timing variations with some 3's and 3.8's in there.

If it were me, I'd run that fuel out on a lower map then start over with a good quality top tier station for the 93. I would also test the E85 so you can be sure you're mixing properly.

Again, I'm no expert at this. These are just the obvious things I see. Perhaps someone with more experience can chime in.

I appreciate it. I'm not entirely new to tuning but this kia stuff is a bit different. Seems crazy that people run 91 on map 2, seems like my car needs jet fuel for map 3

Do a proper log on map 1 and we'll go from there.

For proper review and the JB4 to adapt, please do logs in 3rd or 4th gear from 2K rpms to redline at wide open throttle.

Ok I got new gas and did new logs. 9 gallons of top tier 91 no ethanol mixed with 7 gallons of e85, which I didn't personally test but some locally have recently and it was around e75. My dragy time from the old map 3 was 12.8@111 and on map 2 with fresh gas it was 12.6 @ 113. Still looks like some high #'s but it's running better. I also did a dragy run on map 3 and it was identical telling me it's pulling timing. Idk how I can ever run map 3 or 4 and have it be helpful. I also did the 3rd gear long pull each time after switching maps.

That matrix is too inconsistent...I'd suggest choosing a different matrix. For that kind of testing I'll usually do a rolling start say 40-90 or something on a closed track where it doesn't include a shift (especially when I'm driving manuals) so it's more consistent.

Timing looks okay on map 3.

Re did the log as requested. Looks like a few spots at 3.0 so its still a bit much for that map I think. I think 93/e30 will allow it vs the 91/e30.

I don't see anything I'd be concerned with there other than the trims maxing out as that could force you lean. Probably best to run a little less ethanol or add CPI.
