Default brake booster vacuum hose replacement - 06-05-2021, 08:51 AM

I was cleaning out my intake valves the other day and accidentally cracked the old brittle hardline the previous owner installed as a replacement for the brake booster vacuum hose after installing relocated inlets. I noticed afterward that my brakes are very hard to press and hardly work. now and I am looking to replace the line.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what type and size of hose to use? I would prefer to be able to buy a hose at some place like AutoZone or napa.

Thanks for any help!

I personally think you'll have to get the correct hose. Any generic, non-formed lines will just collapse under the vacuum (my guess) where they are bent, and/or they will kink. Had to replace the vacuum line to the booster on my E46 and there was no way I could do it with generic hoses since there were all these crazy bends. Plus it was a lot larger hose than the standard 4-5mm stuff (which those can bend fine since they're so small).

Try using only OEM components. You should find the part number for your car on etkbmw.com and use only original details.
