Bms low temp question -

I have the low temp stat but I have the 4 season's to deal with so I keep taking out and reinstalling the stock oil stat.is it possible to put the bms oil bypass in and use the stock spring together?or will it wont work that way.

I would just leave it in at all times.

I live in the midwest and switched back and forth a few times and then changed to a lower oil temp thermostat. They are all over ebay for about $30. It consistently opens around 228 deg F. Very happy with it, allows quick warm up to turbo temp and then hot enough to boil off any condensation. The temps then stay very steady around 217 deg F.
I have a 535i which has a massive oil cooler. I don't know exactly how the lower temp oil thermostat would perform in a 335i or other. FBO E40 JB4 MHD XHP

The screws to the cover will eventually get ruined and you either won't be able to open or close it. I removed mine during colder months but I eventually just left it out because you can't get new screws and I didn't want to get stuck. In the winter I couldn't reach operating temperature with it in so it stayed out.
