Log Review: Over Boost at Partial Throttle -
02-11-2019, 10:55 PM
Hi all,
Just recently installed a JB4 on my new to me 2008 335xi, and I want to get feedback on my datalogs. The partial throttle logs that have me concerned, as it is significantly overboosting
Mods are:
-BMS DCI
-Stett Charge Piping and inlets
-RB turbos (specs unknown)
-CPE Front Mount IC
-C at Less Down Pi pe s
-Running 91 octane
Previous owner had the car on a Proceed, but I've swapped it out for the JB4, currently running PUMP BEF, on latest firmware.
Note that after the BEF, the IAT reading won't go below 33F (0C), but outside temps are -15F (-26C)
Feedback much appreciated!

Ugh, 6 cylinder logging wasn't enabled...
I'll enable it tomorrow and get new logs and values for menu 11 and 12, but they are default, didn't adjust them.
Thanks for the quick reply, will get new logs tomorrow

I hate to be that guy, but how do you turn on 6 cylinder logging? I can't find it in the user settings on the JB4 mobile

Your map 1 pull looks super clean! Doesn’t get much prettier than that.
Timing looks solid, Boost as well.
Trims in line & your hpfp / LPFP & AFRs look solid.

Good to hear! Thanks for confirming!
Any ideas about the partial throttle high boost? Target is 0 but the actual goes way up. The fueling seems to compensate for it, so is there any need to be concerned?

You can try Lowering your menu 12 to say 2400-2500 see if that helps.

Map 5 Datalogs -
02-18-2019, 07:10 PM
I ran some Map 5 logs, still on 91 octane
I was hoping it would tune up past 15psi, but it didn't. Do you think I could run the PUMP BEF Map 2?

Here's some logs of Map 2 at 91 octane
Looks pretty clean?
If I start running some 93 octane and tuning on Map 6, where do you recommend I do some reading to know what to adjust?

Some corrections across multiple cylinders- par for the course imo with 91 octane.
Ideally I’d like to see 93 octane on map 2, and then if you want you and I can start Messing with a map 6. Will be octane limited a bit even with 93, but we can improve things a bit

Thanks for the input, Dave.
So do you think map 2 with 91 is too much?
I'll try 93 octane and map 2 in a bit, thanks for your continued help!
Ultimately, I'll be limited to 91 octane in the area I'll be moving to, so I don't want to get too used to 93. Eventually I'll have to go with meth to compensate for only having access to 91

Some corrections are always gonna be there, corrections occur even bone stock from the factory. We just don’t want BIG timing corrections.
I think map 2 is okay, given your octane- stick to 1-2 or 5 i guess
Happy to help

Hi Dave,
Finally emptied out the 91 and then ran a couple logs with 94 octane. Doesn't look like timing improved much? Appreciate you taking a look, thanks!

The last log looks pretty clean to me!
The first 2 had some corrections - but it looks like on the last it cleared up.
I’d keep using then 94 octane if it’s convenient
