Duty bias question / spool mode -
10-28-2017, 01:01 PM
Spool mode is active to about 3k so how would duty bias settings from 1.5k to 3k even do anything ? I know it does have an effect as I have played with the settings. I can hit 20 psi by 3k, or with lower settings, hit 16 psi by 3k (same boost curve). My question is why does this have effect if spool mode is in play ?

There is the DME spool mode for VANOS and fueling, the JB4 spool mode for boost, and DWP which is default wastegate position that comes in to play at 1psi or less. Not sure what you're asking.

In map 6 user settings. Duty bias settings. At 1.5k /2k/2.5k no matter the values, wouldnt they NOT matter as spool mode is working at that point ? Say default is 50 across the board. If the 1st 3 setting are put at 20/20/20 wouldnt it still spool up the same ? Or do these values affect spool mode some how ?

The duty bias settings don't effect spool mode. There might be situations though at say 2000rpm where you are spooled up already, like if you floor it in 4th or 5th gear, and are able to make more than a few PSI.
