Default 3 QUESTIONS - 08-15-2016, 10:14 PM

1. Settings on map 6, duty bias, etc. will this affect only map 6 ? or will these values help dial in map 3 as well ?
2. 3.5 tmap, where are the new settings page ? as far as rescaling boost gauge etc......
3. If i wanted to target say 1 more psi across the board. do i need to reflash the ecu or do i configure jb4 for this ? how would i go about it ? flash only is 14 psi so i assume the jb4 is targeting the higher boost (19psi). i would like to target 20 and install a 3.5 tmap.

thanks in advance, i tried search and reading numerous threads but havent found what im looking for.

1. No, except for the boost targets those settings are for all maps.
2. It's in the lower right corner of the user adjustment tab. 0=stock 1=3.5bar 2=4.0 bar
3. Since you are running map 3 and I'm assuming meth, you can increase your additive. Once you install a 3.5bar, the additives are re-scaled and go up to 25psi.

Excellent, thank you.
I am not running meth.
As for #2., im looking for the page that shows the additive. I know it rescales after installing the 3.5 tmap.

There isn't one...start at 40 and work your way up based on the logs.

Does installing a 3.5 tmap raise boost target in map 7 ? Or do you change values in user setting to do this ? Or is it just a fixed map that cant be changed ? Sorry for the questions, just trying to gain some knowledge.

Map 7 is a fixed map.

Switching to a 3.5bar changes the map 3 additive scale. Otherwise you have to use map 6 to run higher boost targets than map 7.

4 bar installed. Set to "2" in tmap. I have peaked at 20.9 psi in the past. I would like to do 23 psi max and taper down. Currently running map 3. Should i continue map 3, or go to map 6 ? N54 , fbo, e40, stock inlets. Map 3 at 75 add. Now with the 4 bar, where do i go from here ?
Big thanks to Steve and Jayock for helping me out !

Log looks OK overall. If you want to do a custom boost profile you'd use map6 for that. Then maybe enable the map6 meth safety under meth safety=4.

Your boost targets on stock turbos are unrealistic as PWM is pretty much maxed out. If you had a leaking o-ring, that won't help but for the most part your turbos are maxed out.

Why with the old sensor i could still pull 19 psi to 5k easily and now im at 16 or so ? Should i just put back my original sensor and leave as is ??? And sell the new one that i was recommended to purchase ? Does additive affect map 6 ? Or only map 3 .....none meth here. Thanks. I was advised to get a 4 bar because i was boosting to 20 psi on stock turbos easily, ill be fine with the 4 bar if i can atleaat get back to hitting 20psi. Thats my biggest issue here.

Tried this again. Raised my add and went map 3, car is boosting fairly normal, BUT, my boost targets also went up. So in essence, im still underboosting since i went with the 4bar.

On 23_17_25 you were hitting about the same boost you did before (looking back at your post history logs).

You barely go over 20 at low RPM, and then again briefly as you let off throttle. Most of your pull before was about 18.5psi. Thats about what you hit on 23_17_25 as well.

You might be able to get a bit more with DB tuning, but you are about maxed on these turbos as steve mentioned.

What was the ambient temperature during these runs, and at what elevation?

Thanks. I have logs of steady 19.5 psi, peaks of 20.8, but since 4 bar install i was down to even 16 / 17 psi. Now im back to normal, my problem is since 4 bar install, it raised my over all target to 21.7 on my last log. My question is WHY and how do i get that to lower down ? The way my car ran last night at 75 F off PCH in Calif. Was excellent. I am happy with it. BUT,as i said, my over all targets raised up since i installed 4 bar so i am essentially under target since 4 bar install. I was advised to install the 4 bar since my logs peaked at 20.8 and was steady 19.5 / 19.8 psi .

So what im saying is, everything was O.K., swapped 4 bar so id have more room for p.i.d. since i was maxed out. Installed 4 bar and went under target and NORMAL boost range for my car. Got it back up to boost range im used to seeing, BUT, im technicakly underboosting because my targets went up after 4 bar install. Hope this clarifies confusion.

What map are you running?

Either lower the targets in map 6, or decrease meth add in map 3. Your FF probably just had to learn.

MAP 3 because i tried map 6 for 4 runs and i barely got to 17 psi, now back on map 3, 75 add, im back to boosting in the 19s and peaking over 20, but as i said, way under target since the target went up on me.

So lower target by lowering meth add, to where you want target. Then see if FF will learn up, or we can do some DB tuning.

I lowered add to 40, but my actual boost lowered to 16 psi max. Thats what has me confused.

Is target where you want it? If so, post a log of it being under target when target is where you want it.

Though this is all an academic exercise. If you are running your turbos to the max, it doesn't much matter if target perfectly matches or is over boost, as you are hardware limited.

I've run 35psi targets with FF and DB maxed just to see what the absolute max I was for the stock snails at 7500 ft. Never even got close.
