Why isnt my WGDC maxed out? Pushing factory turbos to the limit -
03-15-2020, 06:46 PM
Targeting 24psi, I spike to 24-26psi but then taper from there. I understand stock turbos probably cant flow that to redline but shouldn't the WGDC be maxed the entire time, keeping the wastegates shut? Any opinions and input is appreciated, thanks!

WGDC won't max out because the turbo exhaust wheel would overheat and melt.
Also, you may think a turbo failure is a write-off but a broken compressor will send metal into your engine, destroying it. Proceed with caution.

I’ve seen healthy stock Turbos w. Inlets meet that psi down low / mid range & then trail off towards redline. If the Turbos are healthy they can take abuse, but may not last.
The stock Turbos are so small and generate a lot of torque downlow- Blowing the Turbos is 1 concern, however id actually be more concerned with possibly bending a rod from all the downlow torque
