So got out of work yesterday , pressed unlock and nothing no power at all. Found it odd I have a new battery. Used key to unlock door and trunk , can't open passenger door need power for that one.
Battery votage was good and also present at the B+ post under the hood. Tested fuses all we're good and remember i have all the tools I need at work. But no voltage at fuse box in glove box while laying across my seat and sweating in the Florida sun cause my windows are rolled up. After a hour I called it quits and called a tow truck. While waiting for the to truck I came across a service bulletin online
SI B61 08 11. look it up
I found info searching more to try and jiggle all the wires going to fuse box behind glovebox you have to remove the panel under glove box to get to wires . As soon as I jiggled them interior lights turned on I jumped up stepped on the clutch and it fired up. Called to cancel towteuck and got my ass home.
Today took a day off and went to stealership, my fuse box is melted in the back as is the B+ so they all have to be replaced. Covered under the recall , no BMW for a week but a courtesy car was included since my damage was so severe and they have to order the parts.
If yours did not start melting the will replace just a 3ft section of the B+ going to fuse box.

My interior clock would reset to 00:00 every few days when I turned my car on before work so that is a sign the corrosion on the cable connection has begun

Exactly the same, the weird thing is the recall notice is being stagered to customer so some got it and some won't get it for a while. The dealer said that they have only done the recall on used cars they sell and for me parts are on order because they don't stock the complete cable and fuse box. Only the short repair section that cost $16

Im bringing this back up..
Im heading to bmw tomo go get the blower motor rrcall taken care of.. how can i ask the advisior to check on this see if my car falls u der it..?

They check all open recalls. They did my blower motor recall at the same time as the B+.
Or ask them but they should do them all

End of May this year. Since my fuse box and cable was replaced and parts had to be ordered. Took them three days mainly,waiting on parts

Ah ok yea that didnt pop up here at the dealer.. come to find out my b+cable was replaced back in 2013

Hmmm, never got this recall notice. I did the airbag. I have the notice for the blower motor harness. I replaced my blower motor in May and the harness was in brand new condition, so I'm not exactly worried about getting it cared for.

Yeah I started showing signes of this issue 2 weeks ago. When getting to where i was going id turn off the engine and as i ejected the key there would be total power loss. Happened twice, could not lock car even with emergency key. Lucky power would restore by the time id come back with clocks being reset. Wiggled the wire at the back of the fuse box resolved it for a while. Took it to BMW anyway as i did not want to risk it anymore, and they have done a temp fix i beleve till a full cable change is done.
