Default SO JUST RACED A 335I WITH MHD STAGE 2 - 11-14-2016, 10:45 AM

AS TITLE SAYS RACED A FBO 335I , SAME EXACT MODS AS ME ONLY DIFFRENCE HE WAS ON MHD STAGE 2 TUNE WITH E30 . I HAVE THE JB4 MAP 5 WITH E30. HE PULLED ON ME BY HALF OF A CAR EVERY RUN. HE SAID HE WAS BOOSTING AROUND 17PSI I CAN ONLY GET 16ISH OUT OF MINE. IS MHD BETTER THEN JB4?!?!?

i dont think there is a definitive answer here. jb4 was limiting your boost probably because of timing. maybe your intakes have carbon buildup, maybe your IATs were higher, maybe your ethanol blend was less than e30 maybe he was on e40. post some logs and folks will get you some answers

No it is not. If you are seeking to install a tune that is set it and forget it then MHD is great.

But if you want to fine tune your driving, use the JB4 safety's, and have room for a larger turbo setup at some point JB4 will always be the way to go.

Support too.

I would tell you to do a BEF and re-race. You will pull if you stack the BMS PUMP Flash and run map 2.

You'd need to datalog your car to evaluate why the tuning is doing what its doing.

+1 and if you are hoping to use somebodys cable to flash that would be silly.

Buy a cable and download MHD, use the JB4 flasher module ($50) and flash the pump flash.

I would advise you to get the cable so you can flash yourself. I use mine often for flashes and changes to best suit my needs.

Looks clean for the most part.

Trims is about maxed out.
FF is maxed out but PWM is good.
LPFP starting to get a little weak but that normal on E85 mixes.
IGN is a tad high but its learning down.

Overall you are having a few slight issues but looking good.

PUMP BEF would help your trims a bit and probably make some decent power.

Log looks decent. It's not particularly aggressive. I see you are working up against a DME fueling limit so adding in the free or MHD back end flash map would open up your power. If you run E30 normally RACE is a good way to go. Can be used on pump fuel and various E85 mixtures.

As others have stated, its impossible to say which tune is better based off of this due to so many other factors. Even when both tunes are exactly the same, I'd be willing to bet there are other variables like the miles on your cars that would make some kind of impact on the race. Even the state of your transmission, post shift timing, etc.

Yes I would shift before 6krpm too keep your car in its power band. I have upgraded turbos but still shift before redline to maintain my higher boost.

But like for like, racing in the same are at same time, you'd still lose. MHD is relatively aggressive for a tune in general but JB4 + BEF would meet your need to beat him.

That mixture is only about E25 maybe even lower. Once you do the BEF go to E50. It might seem like a lot but in your tank that's around 8 gallons of E85 and 7 of 91. Use this calculator and account for E85 to really be E70 or lower. I think some guys have tested pumps and found bare minimums(E51) so be careful.

I run slightly under E50 and I've had boost levels around 19psi without the BEF. I think just simply upping your mixture will give you the edge. You'll want to do the inline pump or maybe even the stage 2 if you plan on using E85 regularly. I have a station .3 miles from home so I practically drink the stuff
