You can use interface on G4 boards. On 32bit I'd have to look in to it.

Do we load the new firmware hex 28 on the g4 or leave the old firmware on and just input the dme type under the cps 7000 value?

Some cylinders tend to run hotter in certain engines. Since #5 is the middle cylinder of the rearmost bank it wouldn't surprise me if it ran hottest of all 6. Depends how the cooling channels are set up. Miata's always had the problem of #4 running hot for example. Completely different engine though so I might be wrong.

These features are not G4 compatible.

When I was setting up the JB4 mobile app I was advised to enter either 4 or 5 in order to get timing reading from all 6 cylinder. Neither worked. I get all 6 when I enter 6. Why is that? How do I find which file I have. Most common are I8AOS for <2008 and IJE0S for >2008. Mine is March 18, 2008. I want to figure this out before I attempt backend flash.

I can't seem to log cylinders 2-6.
Thanks

Old Thread, but interesting topic.
I believe Coolant flows from Driver side to Passenger of block, not end to end.
I suspect that Cyl 5 is closest to the heat output of the turbos. That's a theory I haven't dug into (I know it's close).
I too have noticed Cyl 5 being noisier, though not as much as issue as supporting mods are applied.
