Changed all injectors, still getting rough idle -
05-11-2015, 05:38 AM
As the title says, I changed and coded all 6 injectors and I'm still getting a rough idle, and cold start.
Could a fouled plug be causing this? Could a coil pack be causing this? VCG has already been done.
And off-topic but is there a spark plug too for our cars that doesn't come loose from the socket? My Toyota has a flexible one that is attached to an extender bar permanently which doesn't come loose.

Have you tried resetting all adaptations, including the throttle reset?

Clean valves. Make sure your injectors are coded. Replace all coilpacks and spark plugs. Replace or clean your VANOS. Reset adaptations.

VCG done about 15k ago along with VANOS and plugs, injectors have been coded. Walnut blasting done about 5k ago. Injectors were just done.
Instead of throwing money at it, would bad coils cause stumbling/misfires (no-codes though) /rough idle? I'll reset adaptations tonight. Plug 2 is fouled, would a fouled plug cause this?

Valve cover gasket was done, did you check all the ports when you had the cover off? They get clogged over time and attribute to stumbling idle issues.

Bad coils CAN cause the problems you describe... Dont just throw money at it. Create a log and see if a specific cylinder is coming up with a code first. If not, check the plugs as well to see if any of them have excessive oil or a gas smell. You may need to re seat one or more of the valves.

A shop did the VCG, how do I create the log? I'm fairly technical so if you can give me pointers. Codes wern't displaying for misfires or cylinders through INPA.
