MHL and OTG can't happen at the same time as they both need the USB data lines. You can find some tablets and old phones that have hdmi out.

It can't read it in real time, but if you have an issue just hit "Read Codes" and it'll let you know what happened as long as you don't have auto-clear enabled under the JB4.
I'll make a new video this week before I release the app. Also just an update I finished the data logging so now after you finish a log you can email it to yourself or whoever. Also methanol and user adjustment pages are complete now as well.
Here is a video from last week before I made some improvements and finished logging and other things.

Looks good then. I'm sold. Code reading will help out a lot as I don't have to have someone riding shotgun now with a laptop trying to troubleshoot my issue. Now just to find some time to route that cable into the glove box...Also, thanks in advance for making that second video showing this in action.

I think simultaneous OTG and MHL are possible with 11-pin MHL adapters that are used for the GS3 and later Samsung devices.
The Samsung smart dock certainly advertises HDMI out and USB storage at the same time.

The app is portrait only for now. I may do landscape down the road, but it's not that high on my list right now.

I'm buying this app as soon as it's released. I have no problem at all spending this kind of money on an app that brings so much convenience! It's really a steal compared to other platforms that require dedicated hardware, permanent installs, and still can't do what the JB4 can do. I love this car!!!

Once the logs are working, where are the log files stored to transfer them to a computer?
Nevermind - I just that they will be emailed

As long as the testing goes good over today and tomorrow then yes. It'll hopefully be live sometime between wednesday and friday.

You don't have to connect to a computer to send them. You can just email them to yourself through the app. If you really want to though, they are in JB4 Mobile Data as seen in the image below.

I'm sold, I do have a slight off topic question. What phone mount are you using in the video, I'm currently having to use a vent mount w/juice otg, and hate it? Thanks in advance, and can't wait to get it.

It's a really cool magnetic mount that has been working great for me.

great work on the app, should be very popular!
with the 0-60 timing app, does it also work to get the relevant 0-100 km/h?
would also love a landscape option but i don't think that will stop me purchasing it...

It will eventually.
When I do the coding for the 0-60 timer I'll have it do a check to see if you have Future Use D set to 4 and if you do it will use the actual car speed rather than the gps speed to give more accurate results.
Just so everyone is aware these are things that WILL NOT be in the initial release:
0-60 / quarter mile times
Data Graphing (Logging will work just fine you just won't be able to graph it on the device for now)
G-Force Meter
Firmware Updating (This is the next thing on my development list)
Landscape mode (This is at the very bottom of my development list)
Everything else that is under the features section will be good to go.

Do we manually have to hit the "Start Logging" button, or does it automatically start logging when we go WOT and stop after a period of time after we lift?
Sorry if this has been asked prior.

The FUD-4 setup is much better IMO, unless you're using FUD for something else it uses the actual vehicle speed output and it'll give you accurate readings on tree covered roads or in tunnels.lol. I'm currently using it for my 0-60 times. As long as this is an option like you stated before I'd be using that instead of GPS for a speed indicator. But I'm glad that they'll still be the GPS option available.

I think quite a few guys (myself incl.) use FUD set to 100 to disable JB protection on water temp rather than oil.
Not a huge deal changing it to 4 however since you should be warming the car up properly before attempting any performance testing and now it'll be easier than ever with the phone app.

Currently you have to tap the start logging button to begin logging. I can make it do what you're asking if enough people want it (I'll just make it a preference in the settings menu).

I think the logging on WOT would be pretty cool. Or even a countdown on when it will start to log so we can get situated before going WOT.

Really you can just start the log and it'll capture almost 8 minutes of data you shouldn't need a countdown, just go when you're ready. Then when you graph the log on a computer later just view WOT only and it'll show you only the relevant bits.
Regarding todays release...
The app should be live in the play store sometime in the next few hours. I have been testing and everything has been working great for me, but if you experience any issues just send me a message on here or make a post in this thread and I'll try to get whatever issue it is resolved.
Notes:
This app is optimized for phones not tablets (I don't have an android tablet to test on), but *should* still work with them.
Please open the app for the first time while on a valid internet connection to verify licensing.
Again, make sure your device is OTG compatible.
I believe I set the min OS to 4.2. If this becomes a large issue I'll check on making it target earlier OS versions.
Other than that I just want to say I hope you guys enjoy it.
