with my actual IJEOS.xdf file, I can't edit X/Y axis values for the torque request maps under tunerpro.

It would be cool if we could trick the TCU into thinking the car was going slower than it really is. It seems to me that would effectively make the upshift points higher. Since the TCU is on lockdown and encrypted it seems the only way we can get the desired results is by "tricking it" I'm not sure if this is even possible. And even if it was, then we might run into DME and tune issues cause then the DME would be making decisions off false speed data. Anyone know if this is possible to feed the TCU a false lower value for the speed the car is going and feed the DME the real speed?

the TCU decision to upshift doesn't seem to be speed related.
It's more load related.

Not sure that is true, seems to always shift to 6th @ 40 MPH in D unless very heavy throttle. Also in Sport, 6th is always @ 74 MPH never less. Some of the other shift points also seem to be keyed to specific road speeds, depending on throttle.

I agree that under higher load, while accelerating, shift points are moved higher based on load (or possibly torque).
However, I'm talking about when under light load or cruising. In these scenarios I see predictable and consistent shift points that coincide with speed. In other words it always goes into 6th gear at 40 mph under light load / cruising. My goal would be to prevent this from happening so that if you're just cruising around 45 - 50 mph you'll stay in 5th gear.
Looks like Ford guys have options for tuning their ZF trannies. Wish we could do the same for more direct control: http://www.chiptorque.com.au/xflash3...ission-tuning/
But maybe there is a way with DME tables we have available to accomplish this? Maybe someone can hack the Alpina flash, modify it, and not run into checksum or encryption issues or maybe that's easier said than done?

Since changing the requested torque table I have found myself switching to DS mode much less. It is a HUGE improvement from before.

+1 I would like to see the "low" map as well.
Also, for me when I used the modified requested torque (driver) values it introduced some pretty bad boost oscillations. And I didn't see it further helping the D mode behavior more than what modifying requested torque (low) already did. So at least for me I'm sticking with the default values for the requested torque (driver) table.

It definitely helps and this might just be a placebo effect but I feel like its more eager to adapt too. For example if I'm accelerating briskly and get over 40 mph sometimes the car will hang out in 5th gear until I completely or almost completely take my foot off the gas rather than up shifting to 6th as soon as I get to 40 mph. Also, I feel like, especially if going up an incline, that the car is more eager to downshift as opposed to boosting like crazy at low RPMs in too high of a gear.

I get the 2D59 overtorque and it makes DSC module mad when I use these values in my high% table... I need to figure that out, anyone have any ideas what torque limit is being over reached?

Are you using ATR with Cobb, or some other tuning platform? Would like to try this at some point if it is better than the Cobb linear throttle map I'm using now (vs stock throttle I was using before).
Also unrelated Alpina flash Q. Somebody on another forum claims newer Alpina B4 deletes automatic upshift in M mode, so you can rev to true redline & hold it and not get upshifted @ 6700 rpm. But only with DSC full off. His Q was is that true with the B3 flash, and I can't honestly say I've tried it with DSC full off. Just DSC on or DTC on. Anybody?

I might be missing something here but my version of access tuner race has two maps for torque request...
Torque Request (AUTO)
and
Torque Request (DCT/MANUAL)
But from what I understand, they should both be the same map. (Torque Request HIGH)
Any insight
Maybe its a N55 thing?

If your build date is pre-3/07, you cannot flash your TCM. Period.

I have a 2010 TCM for sale that will enable anyone with a pre-3/07 build the ability to flash Alpina, 1494 or whatever is available for our platform. All you have to do is install it, which is relatively simple, and flash it yourself, if you have the means, or contact Wedge to flash it for you remotely.

I just got the Alpina B3 Flash done by http://www.bimcoding.com/ I was too chicken to do it myself, also weeding thru all the posts on it would have taken a while. So far, I am pleased, but I've barely driven it since the flash last night. RPM gauge drops to 0 on manual shift, as reported in other posts. My favorite feature is the indication of what gear you're in. Drive is much the same, Sport is banging, and Manual may be better than a manual shift.

Don't use that modified throttle mapping for an N55 car. Just don't.
You might still be able to improve the alpina D mode via throttle mapping, but the mapping provided here must be for N54 cars. On my N55, the car drove like crap.

Isn't the N55 valvetronic? No conventional throttle IOW. Would not be surprised if N54 maps did not work but who knows.

Yeah this is true but the maps we are talking about are in reference to pedal position and requested torque percentage. Both of those should be pretty platform independent.
Maybe I will try to make a linear map and see what happens.
