Open up the case and check it. If it has diodes, cut em and update firmware, then enjoy!

Was hoping to avoid that, but I now want to run USB cable into glovebox as I've d/l the logger app for my Android, so I might just open it and find out...Was hoping if I could get a difinitive answer, I could avoid removing and opening the unit.
I am able to upload new firmware and control the unit through the steering wheel, but I'm not sure if the presence of the diodes will not allow me to upload the firmware, or just that the firmware will not operate as expected with the diodes present.

If brand new, the diodes are not installed. I suggest logging with a computer for your first logs.
Also the software revision number will be part of the log file so you can see what file is already loaded.

I will run the cable into the cabin and run the logger.... I have successfully uploaded the latest 27.5 firmware and it uploaded fine. Running a P3 Gauge in analog mode. Running Map 5 or Map 1, I can't seem to generate more than 12psi boost. Was thinking the diodes if installed could be preventing it from generating more boost (like the 13 psi in map 1). Haven't finished the mods though; so could be back pressure from running a stock exhaust. Still need to install the AA intercooler and see if that will help. AA Blowoff installed as is the aFe CAI... Was running the P3 in conjunction with the JB4 until 2 days ago, when I read in another thread that they can interfere with each other, so changed the P3 to analog (vacuum).

I've had a couple customers report a map 4 switch when using the 2STEP. If anyone else has that issue email me I'll send you something to test.

Do a log in third gear from 2.5K to 7k and post in the help section.

Have you tried E85? If not, do yourself a favor and try it with map 5, do two or three 2k-6/7k pulls (3rd gear) and feel the GOODNESS. Map 2 will not do what map 5 does on E. With that said, i'm not sure there's much of a difference without E, possibly a slight edge after pulls for map 5. I def can confirm though, if you use map 5 and don't do the adaptive pulls, you are not experiencing what map 5 has to offer.

How is map 5 without the E85? Would map 2 be more beneficial for me without e85?

Map 5 autotunes, whereas map 2 is fixed boost targets. With e85, map 5 will see the lower temps and knock supression and target higher boost than map 2 and theoretically will still remain stable. Map 2 on small amounts of e85 is fine but kind of defeats the whole point of e85.

It seems like my car is boosting almost 15psi when the oil temp is still cold. Is there a setting to disable the jb4 when the oil is under 160 degrees?

With a 335is it's going to run relatively high boost all the time due to the higher factory boost target.

Indeed, Terry but I can feel the difference between a map 1 setting vs a map 2 for example even when the car is still cold. That doesn't seem like the correct behavior, 335is or not... right?

IMHO map 5 when the adaptation pulls are done are stronger then map 2 on or off E, I can't back that up with data just seat O pants. On E, it's not debatable, the cars a monster with minimal mods.

If you're running the Flash you WILL see higher boost levels before you hit the 160 temp threshold.
