I'm most interested to see what all the different setting equate to, whether they're all safe for the engine which is otherwise stock besides a CAI, whether I can change the mapping using the steering wheel controls like the JB4, etc etc.
The JB+ is just a boost controller and as stated above has NONE of the functionality that the JB4 G4 or the G5 has.

The G5 is the way to go tho...tons of functionality and dataloging as well.

ok. but it looks like to really using anything but Map 1, I need to have extra things on my car that I don't have and don't plan on installing. Can't even do Map 2 because I live in CA and can't get 93 Octane.

Map 0: Stock bypass. This is the only map you may use the OBDII diagnostic port with. Set to map 0 before dropping off for service, using a BT, etc.
Map 1: 13psi (suggested for most stock applications)
Map 2: 14.5psi (suggested for those with ********* and 93 octane)
Map 3: Progressive meth mapping with flow sensor failsafe. See guide to enable. Meth use isn't supported/suggested without a flow sensor and map 3.
Map 4: Stock map w/ CAN active. Allows full logging and in dash gauges on the stock mapping.
Map 5: Autotuning map. Boost ranges between 12-17psi based on your cars octane, conditions, and modifications. Fully E85 compatible. If using E85 we suggest around 30% to start. Refer to the E85 FAQ for addl info.
Map 6: User defined map generally only used for diagnostics or troubleshooting.
Map 7: Race gas map. 18.5psi peak boost on the G5 ISO. Requires straight 100-104+ RM2 octane unleaded racing fuel. The expensive stuff. We do not suggest using leaded racing fuel. To use this map with E85 requires the BMS E85 back end flash, inline booster fuel pump, and a 60% E85 mix.
Map 8: Economy / Non-Turbo map. Triggers a 3100 "reduced power mode" code while active. After switching back to a normal map you will need to restart

Even Map 1 will give you 5 PSI of boost (more than the max the JB+ can deliver), delivery will be smoother, and it's safer for your engine since it does far more than simply increase boost pressure. Map 5 works fine with stock and will auto tune to the highest safe boost. If you're looking for a cheap and easy to install performance mod, buy a used JB+. But if you buy a JB4 G5 ISO, you'll grin from ear to ear every time you drive your car.

I've seen some references to a 27.4 G5 ISO firmware but all I see is 27.3. Is 27.3 the latest and greatest?

Terry is BETA testing the 27.4 firmware and emailing the file to those that are having and issues with 27.3 or any of the earlier 26.x versions. Once he gets good feedback and is happy with it he will post it on the first page of this post.

27.3 is the latest version. We're always testing things on the back end though. If anything comes up better than 27.3 we'll update this thread.

Yes set them to 0. I noticed fuel open loop changed from 80 to 40 when I did a reset defaults, not sure if that should be changed too? I asked before and no one was sure.

Open loop and FF will adjust themselves as needed. 40 is a fine starting point.

I recently did a couple of third gear pulls map 5 and my open fuel went to 85 along with my wastegate ff adaption going to 98 (running about E25-30). What is that telling me?

Nothing. The JB4 adjusts those fields as necessary for the conditions/fuel/tuning in place.

Hello Everyone, my first post here. I just ordered the JB4 G5 ISO and was wondering how can I upload the bms backend flash? I will be running e30 or e40 and I have ***, FMIC and DCI (already own a COBB). I tried to search, found how to do the BB backend flash but didn't see the one that can be done via COBB AP. Thank you,

How do you know it didn't have one installed prior to buying it?????

Regardless, I would do it! If it is a 6 speed, you may be needing a new clutch after you mod it......i've got about 130k on mine and been running JB, meth and e85 for quite some time, no worries.
