Chasing 10's with RB's -
09-24-2013, 05:53 AM
In my chase for that elusive 10 second pass I have managed to get a just a little bit closer. It was a game time decision to go so I pulled my rear and pass seats, loaded up my DR's, and left with way to much gas in the tank. By the time I arrived I still had about 1/2 tank of E60 with about 1 gallon of 109 splashed on top.
Track conditions were decent with temp around 71, DA of 2K, and unfortunately a headwind...
Best pass of the day was 11.23 at 125.49
I am finally figuring out how to prep and launch the DR's properly so things are starting to become interesting!
Kills for the day included a couple fully track prepped F Bodies, first and second gen GT500's, and a good looking 300Z.

Great times. How does the auto seem to handle that kind of power? Any slipping?

LOL - I spoke to the GT500 before hand and he was telling me about his pulley swap etc. and asked him to run. When I told him I drove the little BMW he kinda smirked... He had a different expression on his face after the race!
The problem is that I was in no mans land for this event. My class options were 11.5 or Outlaw (unlimited). The weather was to good for me to lift (want that 10) and my car is just not fast enough for the outlaws...

I really think so as well. Just did the 26.6 update as well as the new Race Low Load flash and the car is pulling really well!

Higher stall would allow for higher RPM launch - I am launching around 3k now and would imagine 4K at full boost would be nasty!!!

High stall tq will make the car undrivable and will basically be a dedicated track car.
To get the coveted 10.9xx pass a few thing need to happen, some involve $$$ some do not.
Your 60’ foot needs to be around 1.5xx or low 1.6xx so its LSD time! Or try adjusting the pressure on the rear tires.
Inflate the front tires to the maximum psi, most tires are 50-51psi.
Get light weight rotors front and rear you can get Z4 35is front rotors (which are 6 lb lighter and about 4 bills), doesn’t sound like much but every bit helps.
Wait for better track conditions less than 1000 DA
get an $18 syphoning pump and a 5gal gas tank with you to drain excess gas.

At DA of 2K that's damned impressive. If the DA can get better with the weather changing, you'll have your 10sec ET right there.
2 tenths is easy to pick up with 2-3mph trapspeed

I think that with a lower DA and a bit less weight it could happen!

Car is running strong. Love this car for being "different" and still laying it down on most all other cars on the road...
