WOW TIME FLIES:
i just checked my PMs and i see that i was already talking to rob in early february 2009...
and then i ordered my ebay turbos mid feb 2009 - a week after i started talking with rob.
note that if i remember correctly - he did not yet start the upgrade at that time but was close to starting.

Trust me I've been around... I know exactly how interested you've been in these turbos..

I would however like to know who else has PM'd Rob and shown interest in the turbos as I can tell you I am also anxiously waiting for more updates and have a set ready ta go for Rob

Did you see my last post above yours ?

damn I have been talking with rob on and off for over a year When he first starting thinking about this ! LOL

fwiw, rob tells me he is not going to sell any turbos unless there are absolutely no hickups.
I am quite sure Terry can tune the hell out of these babies so I am just a wait'n.

My 2 cents

I sure did... time does fly

I first messaged Rob about his turbos back in April of last year so it's just about been a year and FINALLY I can say I think we're almost at the point where we can start getting excited about getting these on our cars asap.

Terry should be able to handle these no problem, what is interesting is that JPsimon's turbos are making very good gains from the "Stage 1" upgrade so with a full upgrade like Rob's we can only hope this will turn out even better.

Yup.
Looking at the gains jpsimon got - I can just imagine what the RB's will do.
Makes you salivate somewhat no ?

Absolutely. With all the time and effort put into these we can only hope once installed they work without a hiccup and we get this show on the road!

yeah i was on the iphone !

nobody adding themselves to the list means
a/ you are most probably in the first batch - and
b/ no one here wants to have some fun.

no worries - rob should definitely sell a lot of these if he comes in at his target price.

my 2 cents

I agree whole heartedly. It is amazing how these small framed turbos fit so compactly in the limited area that there is to work with. A single is definitely the way to go, provided fully upgraded stock housing'ed turbos isnt enough for you.

according to rob, the stock turbos can flow a theoretical 390+ whp, versus the RB turbos which can make a theoretical 550+ whp.
that is over 600+ crank hp.
... do you really want to call these upgrade turbos "tiny little things?"

This is correct. I am not going to kick anything out the door unless I feel very certain in the quality and performance of the product. The list is something I wanted to get inline for those who are "definitely in" provided the product is "as expected or close to it". I do have very high hopes that there are alot of gains to be had from these, and I am going to be heavily relying on Terry to go in there and extract it. Without the DME's cooperation, these things arent going to do anything noteworthy... so alot is riding on the tuning for sure. That aside, the mechanical airflow potential is there.

I'd agree that these turbos are tiny little things, especially in stock form. But modified, they actually can house some pretty capable wheels.

i know this is all hypothetical at this point, but:
do you think your upgrade can work well with nitrous ?
.... or is something very expensive gonna break ??

Updated and 1-10 are really all the same, as they will be worked together. And PS, if you want on a backup or reserve list shoot me a PM. Its always a possibility someone can fall off before it all becomes official.

I think it will work very well with nitrous, yes. As I have always said though, these things should really shine on a lesser grade of fuel and more importantly make alot more power on the same amount of Intake Pressures vs. those with the stock turbine. My turbos should be in a very good efficiency range at 18-19psi. Just to speculate, that amount of boost on a stock turbine'd turbo should be about the same as these at 14-15psi.

Ok, so I didnt have much time tonight... but I did have about an hour to mess with that rear intake tube. It turns out lowering the engine helps SIGNIFICANTLY for accessing the the bolts to unbolt it from the engine. But its still being a Pain trying to remove it completely, and I didnt have time to mess with it too much further than that. Hopefully I can figure out a "sweet spot" where I can wiggle this thing out. To be continued.

Oh, and I have a shipping notification from Tischer. Supposed to Arrive on the 13th.

Rob is terry going to be the only one that is going to tune these or are you going to let shiv to. I would be on that list right away if it wasn't for this damn economy.

Anyone can tune these. I have a few locals in mind, but I believe Terry comes up with a tune first, and that should be top notch as always. It would save me time and money not needing a custom tune.

Rob, are you going with the BMS dual cones? Or something in line with what OldBooster has?
