Default jb4 firmware update stuck on “loading hex” - 09-30-2021, 08:10 PM

Hello, I think I did something bad and I hope it’s fixable...

Got the Bluetooth connect kit for my car all wired up. Was running great, readouts looked nice etc. Took it for a test drive... while I was driving, I was digging through the settings and saw that I could update the firmware. I did not read that you had to have the vehicle off (like a dumbass) and proceeded. The car pretty quickly flashed CEL and wasn’t running good. Pulled over, turned it off, quit the app to try and void the update.

When I turned the ignition on (not the engine this time) I reopened the app and it said there was no firmware installed. I then tried to update it the correct way, but it wouldn’t go past “loading hex”... I’ve tried it multiple times since with the same results.

Disconnected the jb4 and the car started up in limp mode and got me home.

How can I fix this issue? Can I reset the jb4 to the stock firmware? It was purchased in June of this year so it shouldn’t be too old. Is this something I could do myself, or do I need to send it back to BMS?

Thank you for any help.
