Default B58 - First JB4 Logs, looking for feedback - 06-05-2018, 07:32 AM

Installed the JB4 last night and took it for a spin. Here are a couple logs to get some feedback about the default settings. Looks there are some timing drops but timing doesn't go to 0 or below like i've seen in other peoples logs.

The car is a 2016 340 x-drive, 6MT. Mods are the JB4 + BMS intake. These are on pump 93 octane. Map 1.

Logs are good to me! Update to newest firmware so we can see timing in all 6 cylinders.

Attached is another log with the latest firmware. Same thing as before: 93 octane, map 1.

- What kind of boost should I be seeing with Map 1? Here we're seeing a max of 15 tapering to 11.5 in 3rd gear. Is Map 1 normally like that, or are some default settings not correct? It sort of seems like stock boost.

- Timing looks pretty solid but there's a big difference between Ign_1 and all the others. Ign_1 is quite a bit lower. Is that normal?

- AFR's seem pretty good

I feel like I can get more aggressive with things, what do you think?

You can go up to map 2 and see how that does for you. Timing looks okay, I wouldn't worry much about why cyl 1 is off compared to the others.

Map 1 is an additive map so it is +3 psi over stock boost. So if you click DME BT you can follow the boost path we are targeting +3 psi.

Is there anything I can do to prevent the throttle closure when shifting into 4th?

Are you talking about shift bog or the slight overboost after the shift. Once you shifted the throttle is closing slightly to keep boost back down to target.

Yeah I guess I'm wondering if there is anything to tweak that will help minimize the boost overshoot, thus minimizing any needed throttle closure.

Maybe lower DWP not sure if the EWG wires would help there but I doubt it.
