Default Suggestions for engine mounts? - 04-26-2018, 03:34 PM

Whats going on everyone.

I'm in the middle of a pure stage 2 (hi-flow) build. Getting ready to put the engine back in and noticed the OEM mounts are shot. I am not looking for solid mounts due to much NVH. An slight increase in NVH would be okay. Car is going to be a DD eventually.
I have searched not turning up anything really conclusive. Came accross 034 mounts, AD-E mounts, 335is mounts. Any options or reviews or suggestions on which mounts to go would be great!

Car is a 07 e90 335xi.

sounds like 034 is what you would want. I personally don't own / have them on my car, but stiffer than stock with out adding much NVH.... That's what I plan on running once my clutch goes.

Definitely would not go with 034. Revshift just came out with their 'modular' engine mount which has two versions for hardness. 1 is supposedly more DD friendly but not sure how many people have them on their car yet.

Don't go with 034 mounts. Just go with OEM replacement from Rockauto for like $50, I have them on all 3 of my N54 cars.

Even when I'm on track to have 600 ish hp dd? Isn't that much power not stiff enough?

I just got the Turner 60A poly mount installed, too early to tell, but they seem OK, I raised the idle to 1000 rpms, car feels really connected.

I haven't had an issue with my cars and that mount, plus it's cheap vs the $400 options.

So I've searched and searched and I can only find that one review where someone had problems with the 034 mounts. Has anyone else had problems with these mounts or are we just declaring them junk over the one post?

I cant imagine 034 or places like ECS tuning would continue to sell them if there was really a problem with them.

They look like a pretty good option for the price.

ive had 034 ones fail that i installed 6 months ago. Granted i have almost everything in the rear solid and I drag race very often so I wasnt to surprised. Turner solid mounts going in now. If you got a true daily go with oem replacement.

Before you ask yes my entire car rattles like teeth in the winter.

On my 535 XI the drivers side motor mount has a threaded hole with a bolt for the top connection as opposed to a stud with a nut. Is there any issue to swapping over to a 1/335 style?
