Smile B58 140i question - 11-19-2016, 04:15 AM

Hi all, i am looking at ordering 140i for the new year, its going to take 3 to 4 months to build my spec requirements, has anyone fitted the jb4 to one, if so are you happy with the results. I know its early days yet as its a new product for the B58 engine but any feed back would be great.

We expect full compatibility with the 140.

B58 - regular B58 found in 3 series etc. 320/330 crank power/torque

B58MPPSK - BMW m performance upgrade for B58 which is ECU remap and sportier *** back exhaust 360/370 power/torque

B58m - tweaked engine in both M140i and m240i 335/369 [power and torque however dyno's so far hints that BMW are understating claimed outputs and that B58m may be same as B58MPPSK, without the sportier exhaust.

Couple of threads from Babybmw forum which might be worth a read

Default Maps - 06-24-2018, 02:58 PM

Hi, I'm a new user of the forum and JB4.
I looked for this information in the forum but I could not find it, sorry if I ask something very basic.
Which map do you recommend to use safely, my car is an M140i without modifications only using 98 octane naphtha (ASTM D2699 - RON)? Thank you very much.

Wish that were true, but I think AFRs could be potentially richer with the MPPSK, based on some reading and corresponding I have done with a few members here. No one knows for sure. Otherwise, the two tunes are in fact similar. BMW claims are B58+MPPSK is 355whp while the B58+140i/240i is 335whp so we know they are not identical however. In fact the MPPSK is not available with the M240i state-side.

Just keep crossing your fingers for a flash or BEF that allows more fueling for the B58 and then it doesn't seem it will matter *as much*.

I use a JB4 on the M240i (similar to your 140i) and it's terrific so you'll be pleased even before a flash tune.

FWIW, the exhaust on the M240i is a performance exhaust and *sounds great*.
