Default Should I update my firmware and what version? - 06-19-2018, 12:04 PM

Hi, I recently bought my e82 135i with gen 5 jb4 fitted. This was done Sept 2014.
Apparently it had the anti lag chip fitted too, January this year.
Current firmware is 32/5//2
Should I update the firmware and what version should i choose?
Thanks in advance for your help.
ps. data log added (I think?)

What year is your car?

Software Version: IJE0S for MSD81 (most 2008 and newer cars), I8A0S for MSD80 (most 2007 and early 2008), INA0S for 335is models, and IKM0S for 1M models.

Try I8A0S and see if you have any values.

My advice, read the stickes that apply to you, & if you donít understand something, just ask, lots of info, lots of n54 terms/jargon.

Default Please look at my logs - 06-25-2018, 02:03 PM

6 cyl timing - 15

Anyway point is the car has developed a misfire since I updated etc. No misfire codes though. I looked at the plugs and 4 and 6 were black with soot. all other plugs good.
Did notice pcv hose connector has been leaking above these plugs. Also car has been smoking intermittently. So Im going to veplace pcv valve.

Could previous tune, supposedly done by a shop on a dyno according to the guy who sold me the car (I have a reciept) masked the problem that is causing the misfire? Or is it just a coincidence?

Please check out my logs if you have a moment, assuming they loaded correctly.

More than likely a coincidence.
