Default Log review for 1st time on E30 - 06-17-2022, 10:50 PM

Hi guys I have a 22’ m340 dinan intake, AA catted ******** and jb4. Just filled up my first tank of E30 and ran map 4 did some logs and have no idea how to read the data. Also is there a specific way I should be doing my pulls. I’ve been starting 3rd gear ~2500 rpm. I showed my friend my log and he thinks car is too lean need expert opinion. Thanks!

Your AFR isn’t too lean, b58 targets 14.5ish which you’re at.

Trims look ok.

Your IAT is pretty high, was it over 100* ambient? We’re you sitting still for a long time causing heat soak?

I don’t like that your throttle isn’t staying open, some modulation is normal but your only around 60% throttle most of the time, it should curve upwards and only dip slightly to help control boost.

I would suggest either trying map 3 with e30 or driving around on map 4 and doing a few pulls then getting another log, it takes some time for the jb4 and ecu to adapt and get happy with each other.

I would for sure try to get IAT down by not allowing heat soak or by swapping to an enclosed intake that gets fed from the ambient air. If you can’t keep the IAT down under 110 then try the stock intake to see if that does it. Disregard this if temps outside are over 100* but even in 95* weather my max iat is usually around 115* while moving.

I’m currently running an enclosed dinan intake. It was like low 90’s out but very humid. I got stuck in short amount of traffic maybe 5 minutes then did my pull about 15min after. Yea I’m gonna run map three today maybe you can take a look at that log I appreciate the help.

I am not affiliated with BMS nor responsible for anything, just a fellow enthusiast who has learned.

Being in the 90s could be the cause of high IAT if you sat still right before the pull. If switching to map 3 be sure to do a few pulls if the car feels ok just to make sure the jb4 has adapted fully.

My favorite OTS map was map 2 with an e20ish mix but now I’ve dialed in a custom map that’s much smoother and still get around 19psi on e20 with great timing.

I drove about 100 miles today on map 3 to get jb4 and ecu adjusted then I did my pull.

Yeah I’m not sure I like it still, you’re getting a little over the boost target and the throttle is closing, at one point it closes nearly all the way (19%) which has to feel terrible. I would either contact BMS and see if they can help with the throttle closure and over-boosting OR you could try a map 6 log with settings trying to target 17 and a lower ff settings to prevent over-boost.

If you contact Jesse Dabears on Facebook you can probably purchase custom tuning from him. He usually does supras I think but he may work with you (same engine as supra)

Log looks pretty good. Try lowering auto shift boost reduction to 30 and do another pull with a couple shifts in it.
