Default Stinger JB4 Pure Hyrid Turbo Testing - 01-09-2019, 03:09 PM

Working with Pure Turbos & Force Fed Performance to help dial in JB4 tuning for the Pure Stinger Hybrid Turbos!

So far, results are really promising. FFP uses a lower reading load dyno but gains are huge over the stock turbos. All stock ~300whp, stock turbos maxed ~388whp, Pure Hybrids (so far) ~470whp.

The Pure Hybrids are hitting 24psi no problem. Tuning is still early days but I suspect they will make power all the way up to 26-27psi. We hope to get it on a dynojet and to the track soon.

Mods are JB4, BMS WMI, Pure Stinger Hybrid Turbos, high flow cats, cutouts, upgraded IC&CP, intake, and race fuel.

Have you run into any limitations yet that made you start thinking about a BEF?

Ok so this is a stuffed turbo idea, not a bigger turbo upgrade.... Ill be the guy because I just want to understand for myself, we have this kit the pure turbo upgrade with potential to hit 26-27 psi, what's the horsepower capability? Where are you expecting it to be? The you have whatever the hell lap3 is making which looks to be a bigger turbo kit but only hitting 590 whp? Just want to understand the differences , thanks

The hybrids should be good for around 550whp on a dynojet when the bugs are worked out and look 100% factory. Power isn't going to compete with a full aftermarket turbo kit but this is a clean option for someone looking for more than the stock turbos can offer.

You'd have to ask Pure as to the pricing.

Terry,

How much different with this be with the jb4 logic controls and will there be more data inputs to allow for more tuning capabilities without going full ecu tuning?

Nothing new, FFP is still waiting for a flash tuner to do what we want so we can move the project forward.

The Stinger pictured in the OP was running last Friday at Fayetteville NC Drag Park on Test and Tune night. It was running consistent mid 11.40's. Thing straight moved out!! Best I could do was 12.30's that night.

Any new info? I've been planning on the pure turbo upgrade for my G70, but I am worried about not getting the full potential out of it all. Last I heard on the Stinger forum was that there have been transmission shifting problems, and diverter/blow-off valve problems.

Terry,

I have received some info from FFP concerning what they did with the turbo set ups. My question is to utilize the full potential there would need to be an ECU flash. How would the JB4 operate with the flashing of the turbo? Let's say you do a dyno tune and program; would you keep the JB4 hooked up for the piggyback aspect and how would you work that set up?

Best bet is to get a flash map that is working well on the car at say 18psi. And then we can use the JB4 to tune it up from there, for safety systems, WMI control, or whatever else is needed.

JB4 can stay on map0 while you're working on the flash and just used as a logging tool.

I think it ran 126-128mph traps but then blew the trans. So last I heard they are working on upgrading that.

Gents,

Last I talked to them which was three days ago was the engine is taking all the abuse but the trans is not liking it at all. They are fixing that. They did a back end flash with Pressertech on the car as well. They are doing some great work but I know we all thought the week point of the car would be the trans. I am interested to find out what they do to fix it.
