Default TBI Hobbs switch question - 02-01-2017, 07:06 PM

Does the Hobbs switch have to placed into a bung on the charge pipe or can I just run a line from the manifold to it?

Manifold would be preferred, just not as easy of a setup but easy enough with the N54 and a trip to Home Depot.

Will the lines included with the TBI (thinking bronze kit) even reach to mount on mani, or would have to extend or customize them?

So there is no difference in how the Hobbs switch responds, or how well the TBI kit performs/responds, between before or after throttle body?

it depends on where you mount the hobb's switch. The leads are long enough to reach the drivers side fender well which is where I'd imagine you'd want to remotely mount it if using the boost reference line off the manifold going to the BOV or DV's.

Manifold would be prefered, charge pipe is typically more convenient.

Thanks Steve, I received my TBI kit this week, and going to play with it this weekend.
