To enable the BC button menu changes on F10/535 models you must connect to the JB4 using a BMS DATA cable or BlueTooth kit and change FutureUseD bit #1 on (resulting value of 2) press save. Then turn off ignition and lock doors for 5 min to allow the JB4 to reset.

FUD:
bit0 - Disable in dash BC button controls
bit1 - Alternative in dash BC F10 compatibility mode
bit2 - Disable oil temp warmup protection -- full boost target when oil temps < 160
bit3 - Disable wastegate/FF adaption learning for diagnostic purposes
bit4 - Enable user adjustable progressive meth control
bit5 - Disable port injection mapping tip in gain
bit6 - Enable extra timing cylinder logging
bit7 - Slow down CANbus sample rate - required for some vehicles with older software

FutureUseA: Negative offset to dutycycle via EWG connector to correct for over boost conditions when PWM is low

Loving the JB4 in my F10 528i. However, I can't get the BC controls to turn on and it seems the Future Use D options are not the same as above. My Bit 0 is the same, but I don't have any other Bit option related to BC controls. It would be great to be able to disable the fuel gauge boost gauge and rpm sweep among other things in the BC controlled settings.

Are you on the most updated firmware? It should all be the same for 5 series regardless of engine.

I think so, I'm on the N20_OBDII_EWG_6_T5

What map should I run in a 320i while stacking with bm3? map 5 will be the best? Sorta seemed like they were fighting each other to target. Bm3 flash is Stage 2 93. Not sure what to do once I want to run E30 either due to the bm3 only being 93.

NONE!
Take logs with jb4 at map 0 and then at map 4 and then disconnect ALL plugs and relog again with BM3. Monitor timing mostly and boost targets. Experience showed that JB4 cant stuck with BM3 atm on the N20. If the user Midnight see the post might be able to provide with some depth experience he had recently trying the same thing. He had severe timing issues and was unable to hit target when JB4 was even connected in map 0. We ended to remove all plugs and tune got smoother and more powerful.

Great to know! Thank you. Guess I’ll have to wait for terry’s input on backend flash mode

Was running a track event with NASA Rocky Mountain yesterday and ran into something I haven't experience before install the JB4.

During the last couple of laps during two of my sessions (during the the hottest parts of the day) I experienced a fall off in power. I'm guessing this was a matter of the intercooler getting overwhelmed and the JB4 backing itself down to protect the engine. But I'm wondering if others have experienced this and if this theory makes sense.

I had a last run later in the day where it had rained for awhile and really cooled things down. Despite running my fastest laps of the day I did not experience any drop-off in this session, which is a big part of what made me think it was temperature/overheating that was the root cause.

The JB4 is currently the only powertrain related mod the car has.

Hello grooveriders,

Your logs look good except it's a bit lean as AFR is above 13 in high engine RPM.

The engine power cut may caused by the 8AT safe fail protection. ZF 8AT45 can handle maximum 450NM. The car cuts the engine power when it's over 450NM.

Ran a few WOTs on the road with good performance and no check light or issues.

Today i went to the dyno for a run but once the engine goes > 6000+ rpm , there will be a power cut. Power was at about 290bhp 440 torque Nm at around 6000+ rpm.

No check lights from the car though. I have attached the 2 log files. Appreciate your kind advise that what could be wrong.

N20 Z4 menu is similar to this.

Have you noticed anything different?
