Default Custom 3.5in single turbo exhaust - 10-30-2016, 09:37 PM

Thought I would post some pictures up of my setup to give ideas to other prospective single turbo guys.

Pretty simple 3.5in with one resonator

The car is loud and sounds alot like a supra. Virtually zero drone in 6th on the freeway.

The exhaust burble sounds extremely gnarly.

This was exactly what I was going for and had it all done for well under a grand.

Before everyone expresses their dislike with the single exit know that I do not care

Looks GREAT!

Single exit exhausts look odd but the performance on a ST setup should be greater than the stock setup by leaps and bounds.

Sound clip/video?

Similar to our 135i single turbo exhaust. Good way to go!

Nice! Have you considered swapping the rear bumper for the 328 one?

I have not considered it, it doesn't bother me enough to change it.

I have a new project in itself and that's traction. Already converted the rear brakes, some weld RTS and M/Ts will be mounted soon.

I will attempt to capture the sound but i dont think it will go well

please please please please please when you take a vid:

-DO NOT PUT THE PHONE/CAMERA/MICROPHONE 2 FEET AWAY FROM THE EXHAUST AND SIMPLY REV.
-DO NOT ATTACH A GO PRO TO YOUR REAR BUMPER (unless you just want to show flames)

The recipe for a useful exhaust vid is:
-a take off clip and/or a flyby clip
-an in-car clip (optional)

Did you consider doing a Y-pipe so it looks cosmetically pleasing on the other side of the bumper? I would definitely do that before ever swapping bumpers.

Very similar to my setup except I went with 4" and added a flex section. Also I have an aluminum race muffler instead of a resonator on a 328i bumper

Are you able to put the rear bracing in, or was that not a concern for you?

I could have made the rear brace fit but i havnt tried it on yet.

Here is a little video racing a H/C corvette, not a great showcase of the exhaust but you can atleast hear it spool. Gave him a few second hit and then embarrassed him.
