I get these 2 same codes as well when I first start up the car. It's not consistent but maybe 2-3 times a month.

Are you using the mobile App? When you get the code is it after using the mobile app or connecting to the JB4? Thanks

Hi Guys,

See my comment back in September...I get the error only when the android is still hooked up to the Jb4. As stated by Terry it's a canbus issue. I always disconnect the android from the jb4 after turning the car off.

Thanks. I am using a JB4 Connect rev2 so if I disconnect the mobile app before shutting off I should be OK? Are you using an OTG cable or Bluetooth? Thanks.

This only happens to me when I leave the otg cable connected to the vehicle. When I disconnect it after shut down I have nto had another issue with this.

So I am wondering if the issues I am having is due to the JB4connect being left connected to the cable coming from the JB4. If I get the error codes again I will try removing the JB4connect and see if that does it. That would be too bad as the convenience of the Bluetooth connection is really good.

OTG cable...I'm sure on another thread someone got the same issue when they had there PC hooked up...so I guess its an issue that some of us experience no matter how we connect.

Now only getting the 3100 code. And only once since the last post. Restart of car and JB4 auto delete removed it. It would be nice to get this figured out and fixed once and for all.

Set menu 1 to option 4. The 3100 code is an affect, not the cause. There should be another code.

I think if you do a setting change while the ignition is on, then save it, then start the car immediately it may trigger the 2ABC and 3100 code. it. I am also using Android with OTG cable.

Best to disconnect the cable or select disconnect on the app.

Yes the other code was 2ABC but the last 2 times it came up in the saved codes in the JB4 mobile it only showed the 3100 code.

Update - I disconnected the JB4connect bluetooth from the JB4 after the last post and I have not had a code or half engine CEL since then. May be coincidence but it appears that as with others the codes are related to the connection of the device to the JB4 and CanBus issues. Others had the issue when leaving the OTG cable connected and at least for me it seems to occur if the JB4connect is left connected. In fairness this is a Rev2 JB4connect device that is connected to the cable coming from the JB4 instead of direct connection to the JB4 as the Rev3 is now done. I am curious if any JB4connect Rev3 users are seeing issues with these codes.

We use both Rev 2 and Rev 3 and haven't had that issue. I'd email Donnie and see if he can help.

Steve just saw your post. No codes so far so I will email Donnie at your suggestion. He is the JB4connect guy correct? Just use his link on their website?
Thanks

As others have stated, it's not an issue with the kit. Apparently some people just have this issue if a device is left connected to the JB4 after shut down whether it be the Connect Kit or the USB cable.

Edit:
Personally, I think this has to do with the power taking a different path to ground through the USB cable. Anyone with a Rev 3 kit ever had this issue? If my theory is right, this wouldn't happen with a Rev 3 kit as it is directly (and only) connected to the JB4's ground point.

Thanks for your reply. You know I am not leaving the unit or app connected when the car is shut off. All that is connected is the bluetooth device on the cable so the circumstances are different than the users leaving the app connected when shutting down. Your idea it may be the ground point direct to JB4 or via usb cable may be the issue.

There's a lot of talk about these 3100 and 2ABC codes coming up. When these codes are evident, how does the car run? Are they just codes and don't affect performance, or are they codes that cause a noticeable problem.

Plus, we talk about the half-engine light coming on. Does the car resort to the "see your dealer right away ... drive at the automatically reduced power ...or the engine will blow up". Or does the car run normally and simply have these codes you are trying to clear? Thanks!

3100 code is a result of the 2ABC code. The car will not boost when 3100 is present.

Car typically has to be turned off and/or reset or the codes cleared via JB4.

My SES light turns on at start up and shows the 3100 and 2ABC code all the time. Do you think it's a result of me keeping the OTG cable plugged into the usb that's connected to the JB4?

I always disconnect it from my tablet when I shut off the car. Are you sure this code isn't a result from upgrading to a 3.5 tmap? I need to do my inspection but feel like I'm going to fail with these codes. Thanks for the help.

Not sure, I'll have to check after work. I just read one of the posts in this thread mentioning that might be the case.

Is the N20 TMAP setting correct and is the JB4 responsive.

I have also heard of issues when the OTG cable is plugged in on start up.

Yes the N20 Tmap setting is set to 1 and the jb4 has been working. Well I still have the 3100 and 2ABC code pop up at start with the otg cable not plugged into the usb at startup.

Also, on another note. Even if I have the n20 tmap setting correct, when I do my emissions, because I have a n20 tmap, will it cause a code to pop up since I will have to put it on Map 0 when I do emissions? I know I had to put it in Map 0 last time or else their OBDII reader couldn't read the car. Thanks

Any thoughts? I didn't have the otg cable plugged in at start up and it still pops up with the two codes. I then decided to plug the usb directly to my computer to see if the jb4 app or otg cable was the issue. The 3100 and 2abc still pops up

I don't understand why these codes won't go away. I originally noticed the codes pop up when I first installed the 4 bar sensor a while ago so I got a replacement and still no luck. The 4 bar was also very inconsistent, unresponsive, and jumpy(main reason I got a replacement). I decided to give the n20 3.5 tmap a try and it was much better, however, I still got the two codes. Car drives fine and everything works. It's just these damn codes. I'm stuck.
