Default 335i Manual swap - 05-22-2020, 06:34 PM

Hi guys

I just purchased all the parts needed for a MT swap

And have all the data and steps ready

But there is something i don't get actually

Is, on a AT trans the ecu sees which gear your in and you can
Read it within JB4 logs too

But on a manual, how does the car know which gear you put it in
And how does the JB4 log down the gears
If the MT has no sensors other than the reverse light sensor

Its Really getting me thinking, and im worried i have missed something

Thanks

Wheel speed sensor and rpm gives the ecu enough to know what gear its in.

Now if any understands the gear numbers in the bin and the corellation to gear ratio and the strange numbers provided let me know so I can get 2 step on my powerglide.
