Default For the F80 M3 Owners: Thoughts? - 12-24-2019, 08:57 AM

I'm in the market for a 4-door. My family has outgrown my E92 and I now understand the utility of the go-fast sedan.

I'd love to hear any thoughts on the platform from any F80 M3 owners out there.

Essentially, I'm looking for a car with luxury amenities that also has enough power to be fun. I will not be doing any serious track days or attempting to break platform records. Just occasional straight line events - one or two a year. One key requirement is reliability... my E92 N54 became quite finicky over the years.

Also looking at the G10 M550i and C63. Open to any other platforms I should be considering. Looking in the under 60K used market.

I have both M4 and M5.

Overall, I like the S63tu better. I say go for F10 M5, they're super cheap now and pretty reliable.

I'd second the M5. the M3 I find very uncomfortable day to day, very stiff ride. M5 is a little more refined, more space, and a great engine.

Thanks for the feedback. I do really like the F10 M5, recently looked at a 2016 and loved it. Although I've heard mixed reviews on reliability - at least in the earlier years of this generation of M5. Though decisions.

My 2014 M5 has 100k miles on it. That should speak on reliability
