Default Does a Trans flash work with JB4? - 05-01-2019, 01:40 PM

Seen a few places offer transmission flashes. Wanted to know if those flashes could be used if you have a JB4?

Yes, they have nothing to do with each other.

I just did X-HP trans flash on 2017 340i. Wow. Shifts are lighting fast. I didnt bother with stage 1 and stage 2. I went straight for stage 3 racing set up. It drives smooth in comfort, but once you put in sport+ wow. And it sort of rev matches on downshifts. You feel those hard kicks, i love it

What exactly does the torque setting do?

Looking at the instructions you can change the torque setting for each gear, you can also change when in the RPM band it changes gear, not tried it yet but will at a later date, I also am running on the race settings (MAP 3) i like the way it drives in NORMAL D MODE, and when you change to SPORT MODE it really Kicks BUTT...

So far so good all round, plus its easy to use just like the MHD BEF flash, they are both working well together, now i have my Quaife diff fitted it totally transforms the way the car drives/handles, just love it

I have the XHP Stage 3, the transmission is a beast now. Not that I ever use the gauges in iDrive, but I thought it was interesting that these show some highly unlikely max values of 640hp and 640tq, with current values of 520hp and 640tq. Ya, donít think those are correct or where those came from. Let me know if you have any questions on XHP.

Update on the xHP flash, been getting some limp mode fault codes pop up.
1F0541 - DME: internal fault (engine torque implausible).
1F052F - Drive Safety Function: Acceleration reduction.

I get this when i am in high gear and accelerate hard, i suppose its under full load when this happens.

Any one else get this ?

Your posting questions in a forum that isn't monitored by XHP. It's also relatively new, so fee members have experience with it. Best option would be to contact manufacturer (XHP) directly. Please let us know what they say as there are many looking at this upgrade... Myself included. Thank you and good luck.
