Overboost, AFR too rich? -
01-08-2022, 11:31 AM
Seems to be misfiring or something with RPM's bouncing all over the place WOT around 5K RPM and boost way over target.
Mods: 17t, PI, stage 2.5 LPFP, inlets outlets, single nozzle CP meth, ~E50 mix
E85 Hybrid PI BEF

You've got a BEF loaded...make sure menu 4 option 2 is enabled.

Does the so called "misfiring" only happen when you are in open loop? Trims are not being logged, could be your issue. With all of the work your car has done I'm assuming you also recently replaced O2's? If so, check the connections and make sure they are properly connected and secured.

Bit3: “Disable Open Loop Learning” is not enabled and I have FOL set to 40 as per hybrid turbo setup. I have not replaced 02’s they looked good when I did turbos. I do have them and was going to do it when I go ST in the spring but I wanted to get this figured out first.

A couple things...it doesn't appear menu 4/2 is enabled. Your boost target and actual boost are below your flash target so you need to resolve that.
Second...you are bottoming out your trims and running way too rich...misfires.
Both of those issues need to be resolved for your car to run correctly.

What is causing my trims to bottom out? Should I be using the race gas BEF rather than E85 if i'm E50 + meth?
I reflashed this morning and the car started and idled much better, but still the same problem. See attached logs please.

For starters set open loop to 0 so the JB4 isn't further lowering fuel trims.
If trims still bottom out then you need to run the E85_PI BEF. WMI has a similar fueling effect as PI.

I will try this. I reflashed the HYBRID_E85_PI_T1 this morning. I think when I loaded it originally a couple months ago I didn't have JB4 in map 0.
Also, why is FuelEn & PI flow trending up if it sees trims bottoming out?

I started adjusting down fuel bias by increments of 5 starting around the 4K rpm range where i saw trims go flat and noticed the 'misfires' would occur. Now it appears boost is on target and in line with what it is supposed to be for the BEF. Also i see no throttle closer in the top end that i saw before and Trim1 lifts off the floor a bit. The car felt a whole lot smoother and made it to the top rpm range with no issues. Afr's came closer to normal as well. How am i looking now? second pull in the csv is where i started making these corrections.

You're still bottom out trims but not too bad as AFR's aren't tanking. You can reduce PI, reduce your Meth, or change/adjust the flash to get those back in line.

Last question while I have you guys here. I appreciate all the help. I need an inspection. I haven’t been able to pass. I set JB4 to map 0. Do I need to drive and put some miles on before the cats & O2’s are ready? With my mods the car won’t run if I reflash the BEF back to stock. Is there a safe file somewhere that can be flashed to pass inspection?
