I am going to replace the O2 sensors and the c atalitic converters on my 535xi and looking at some tips from the community. Im installing the oem down ***** not any aftermarket **.
how feasible is doing the job without a lift?
any DIY guides out there?

It can be done, 535xi is about the toughest N54 platform to do d_wnp_pes on, though. Check with UCSBWSR (Evan) with the E61 535xi through PM, and he's got some threads on this site as well.

The pre-c_t o2's can be changed from the top of the engine, with the d_wnp_pes in the car. The rear post-c_t o2's under the car really have to have the catback or d_wnp_pes off in order to remove one of the undercar 02 sensors (the dawnpipe-to-catback flange prevents you from getting the socket on to one of them, but if you're taking the d_wnp_pes out anyway you shouldn't have any trouble with it though.

It's going to be hellish to do under the car. Get the car as high as possible.
