Hi guys,

Thought id share updated log. Been running smooth so far.. noticed that if the IAT is <40degC there's slight oscillation going on.. once engine warmed up.. all is good.

Looks very good to me, what fuel are you using?

Hi guys,

Its been a while since last update, simply because all are working great.

So yesterday i've updated to v11, did a pull - get CEL on wastegate sluggish.
Switch off the car disconnect BT and now it wont re-connect saying "no device found"

i'm stuck now with the CEL and my car is on safe mode - not boosting.
I've tried resetting my phone/bt but lo luck.

Need help.

Thanks

You really have to try to rise power class from 320 to 330... if that’s even possible of course. With jb4 you should be able to get somewhere near 400 hp

Hi,

Stock 330i is 252Whp and 350Nm
My stock 330E dynoed at 260Whp and 412Nm.
My current setup with JB4 is 330Whp and 500Nm. +70whp 26% increased

I believe can squeeze lil bit more out of it but 400Whp is unlikely with my stock internals..

Btw here are my logs running V11 with PID 8 and 6.. it seemed to meet the target boost spot on but ultimately both are unstable (CEL sluggish wastegate) so i had to downgrade back to V9.

Appreciate reviews.

Thanks

330e is basically 320(184hp) plus hybrid part... so what I’m talking about is to upgrade the ecu so it became 330(252hp) plus hybrid and than stack it with jb4. I’ve got 330 and jb4 map 6 gave me 330+ hp without hybrid part that you have.

Ahh i’ve though of doing that too previously, but only via remap can it be done. Plus have to upgarde pistons since 330i ratios are different.

One guy tried remap, but its unstable and coils kept failing and boost leaks.
We’re currently testing on upgrading to hybrid turbo and 330i pistons.

See how it goes, when we can boost 27psi.

Mine was 320 and I remapped it to 330 with no issues. The pistons are stock from 320 with 11:1 compression ratio...

Any issues? Did u ude JB4 on top of remap?

Appreciate ur feedback.

Thanks

No issues so far and yes jb4 is on top of remap to 330)) no dyno yet, but I raced 330 st2 tune witch dynoed 330 crank hp and I was couple car lengths ahead from stand still to 200 kph (124 mph) so 330+ hp I guess, maybe 340...) the current setup is: c@tles***, bms intake and jb4 map6 22 psi flat. The car is xdrive, auto transmission. Here are my best results so far, ron100 fuel and bad tires with not enough traction, so both results could be couple of tenths better with stickier tires.

Wow nice numbers man.. congrats..

My current setup is c@tless d p, BMC drip in, FTP Intake, FTP charge P, JB4 Map 6 with 15 - 16 (3.5k-4.5k) - 15 psi, michelin PS4S 245/30/19;275/30/19, ron 97 + additive (shell vpower racing).

Haven't bought dragy so used Mlaptimer instead.
0-60: 5.3sec

Can i boost flat 17psi? i've tried 16 flat before with oscillation issue.. should i change to ron 100?

i've tried ron 100 before with 16 psi, it was sluggish..even at 15psi, so i change back to VPR.

perhaps u could give me some advice.

Thanks man.

My previous car was 320 b48 without ecu upgrade to 330 and i was runing flat 17psi and even 18psi with no issues and the car was runing really strong and i would even say mean)) You could try flat 17psi and give it some time to adapt maybe. Also there may be need for some tweaking of ff, fol, pid gain and fua for that kind of boost, i cant remember my settings of that period. Anyway you should make some logs with 16 and 17 boost.

Past few days i've got news that some of fellow 330e friends have blown out pistons.. at least 2 pistons were having loss of compression. When open up, found out that the piston chipped off at the side. All of them did stage2 ECU remapping which lasted them for 2-4 months... they're boosting 1.6 - 1.7 bar..

luckily for me i did not join in the remap bandwagon.

guess now i'm sticking on JB4 with 16 psi since my ff,fol, pid & fua are already in harmony.

how long have u been running your remapped b48 with stock 11:1?

any vibrations issues like what my friends had?

thnx

I’ve no vibration at all. Ran 5000km with this setup, but a friend of mine is running the same setup for over 50000km with no issues.

Hi All,

Its been more than 6 months since i last posted. Here are some logs on current setup.

Few changes was just new tire setup. Now running 245/35/19 F and 275/30/19 R with flow formed konig wheels.

i was just thinking to go up a notch on the boost to 18. Should it be ok?

What are your thoughts?

p/s: i have no idea why those are upside down.

cheers.

I work at a BMW dealer and we've seen 330e's coming in the past weeks with blown engines... not even tuned.
Problems with injectors staying open and removing the oil coating on the cylinder walls with scratches and compression loss as a result.

All of the B48 engines have cold start issues when they run a bit rough the first couple of minutes.
We have a 330e and 530e, both do it.

Our 330e is one of the very first and has had no problems so far (except for the cold engine issue and a replaced starter motor in a recall action), but now most 330e's are getting some miles and abuse and the problems seem to rise...

I'm currently on V11 and map 2, I'm a bit skeptical to push it more seeing all the issues on other cars :D

Also the information from Burger Motorsport is very difficult to find and not up to date.
Can I run V13? And on which map?

Hi,

If ure still on stock c a t u need the cold start to heat it up. I dont think during the cold start the pistons run rough. Its not oil coating at cylinder walls is giving way, it's actually a sleeve alternative, a 0.3MM ferrum that is plasma sprayed onto the cylinder walls which is robust enough withstanding any scratches from the pistons.

my car is running V8 MAP 6 seamlessly. I've tried V11 beta but reverted bck to V8.

Perhaps you can address it in the support section.

Cheers.

I run v13 without BEF. MAPs are listed in the BEF thread. I can't seem to find what the additive MAPs are targeting, but I assume the same as v11.
