I'll stay on map 5 i guess until i get a better map or e30 mix.
As for the map i got it from a guy in youtube. i'll post the picture of what i got.

That’s not really what I would call a good map. In my opinion too much variation in boost and is most likely the reason for the timing being pulled. I’ll post a pic of the map I used on max boost E30 only. You can use it as a template for your 7.5 psi over map 6. Note: The map posted takes several mods to run including lower downs, intakes, HX,E30 and more.

The car has been acting weird so I logged a Map 1 pull. Does everything look good or is there an issue with AFR or timing?

This log looks very normal/healthy to me. What do you mean by "acting weird"?

Thank you! Car was throwing crankshaft timing codes (p0011 and p0021) and going into limp mode randomly. Wasn't every drive so I knew it was an electrical issue. The battery was bad and once replaced, the car went back to normal ever since. Just wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with timing in the log.

Your log for a first timer was not all that bad. Started low in the RPMS and road it all the way out. Try getting into 4th and logging a bit of that. Be careful though if on the streets wait till your comfortable as you can really get going in 4th.
Try map 2 and log it. Map 1 log looks fine.

Ditto Silent Q...looks like your good to move up...but looks like you switched to Map 2 right before the pull. I would post a map 3 and map 4 to see where you are at...just put it back to 2 until you get an all clear!

Looks like you had some traction issues on map 3 but once you got going it looked normal. Definitely get the fuel wires as you are running pretty rich.

Thanks for your input. Also, can I run map 6 and adjust the boost? Or I can only run map1-3?

Anyone can run map 6 and put in whatever boost targets they choose...I'd just caution you on doing so unless you're familiar with tuning.

Linear pedal mapping option - does anyone know the difference between this function on and off. For example at 10%, 20%…….100% of pedal input what is the boost called for with it on vs off?

The linear mapping just makes the JB4 boost target more heavily weighed by pedal input.

Log and Rattle -
03-04-2022, 12:55 PM
Hello BMS team and fans,
This is my first participation on this forum as I have been using JB4 with conservative settings and exploring the results over the past two months.
I own a stock Q50 Luxe with 30k miles with JB4 without fuel wires installed, and I'm using map 6 with a maximum target of 4.5 psi with Middle East 95 RON fuel (equivalent to ~91 octane I think).
I think I'm already limited by my fuel so I haven't gone higher (you may still advice if I could go higher). However, the other day I noticed that my timing hitting 0 on the same fuel tank that it wasn't. Attached is two logs with the same JB4 settings and same fuel tank with 7 days in between, and I would appreciate it of you can take a look and advice. And I'm sorry for the long log but that's what I have showing the issue.
Another issue I want to bring up is that I hear a rattling noise when I coast at idle and a strong rattle noise when shutting down the engine, everytime since I installed JB4. I disconnected JB4 and the noises disappeared, so it seems to be JB4 related. Any thoughs?

Looks to be fine. You aren’t going 100% full throttle from the looks of it though. Try and put the pedal All the way to the floor. In your first log you stopped at like 70%. Also timing will drop to 0 when you shift if that’s what your seeing

Attached is a cleaner log with the same map 6 settings. Can you advice if I can run higher boost or I'm already hitting the limit for the fuel used?
Also, I recorded the rattle at shut down and you can see I'm the attachments. At 3.5 sec I pressed Engine Stop, and the rattle is shortly after.

Log looks clean and healthy to me. I would stick with the stock maps until you get more experience with JB4/tuning and have specific goals for a customer map 6. From where you are, I would log a map 3 and see how it looks. Post back here and we will see how it looks.
