Also for someone who has MK7.5, 93 octane, no mods, is it safe to set peak boost higher than 23 by raising failsafe psi higher?
You can set it to 25 or more. The way that value works is it does not control boost. Its a trigger point that if boost reaches that level the JB4 will revert to the valet/safety map.

Default T3 firmware Beta fixes boost reading too high - 03-25-2020, 07:08 AM

Latest firmware Beta, JB4_8_6_T3, appears to have fixed the issue (noted on the T2 variant) with boost readings being artificially too high...on my car, in any case. This 'T3' variant is available on the JB4 mobile app firmware manager. Early boost and peak boost do seem a bit higher, running T3, but I've not logged a WOT run to confirm.

I haven't had a chance to try it on my car yet but may do it tomorrow. Hopefully the issue is resolved on my car as well.

Does the 8_6 firmware still have no boost add when the OBD is removed?
