Default Low boost pressure on n54 (solved) - 11-29-2020, 12:54 PM

Hey everyone,

I'm driving a stock z4 with the n54 engine. The car runs nice, although kind of slow, I was expecting a bit more from it.

I've purchased the MHD and an adapter with the plans to make an FBO. Before I would put anything in the car, I did couple of test runs without MHD even installed in order to get some baseline numbers and see if there are any issues. And seems like there are.

First of of all, I've noticed that the boost pressure is low - around 0.45 bar or 6.5 PSI. The boost target is also low. The other strange thing, is that I'm getting timing corrections under WOT at low RPMs on 3rd gear. No error codes, car runs just fine. What it could be?

I would appreciate if anyone can have a look the the log below and give some advice.

Edit: I cannot post an active link, it becomes ***,

Edit2: Apparently the ECU adjusts boost level depending on the outside air temperature, in order to have consistent power output. In my case outside temp was around 40F. I've found this table on 1addicts:
  • 30F = 5-6psi
  • 50F = 6-7psi
  • 60F = 7-8psi
  • 80F = 8-9psi
  • 100F+ = 9-11psi
