OOO im gonna have to go buy a can of Ms109!!! the hell with E85.
I dont think 50% E85 would be enough for Map 7 now.

I'm not sure the fuel system will support E85 mixtures at these boost levels without our flash. If you know what you are looking at you are welcome to try it. But we've only tested it in house with MS109.

For those who wanted 19 psi there was always Map6. Why this need for Map 7 to be tuned at 19 psi ?

So if one were to want to try map 7 using e85 one should keep an eye out of the fuel trims and that's it?

Those who would use map 6 often would not add in the proper taper to redline resulting in worse performance. There is certainly no need for these map 7 changes, but I do think it will make life easier for those running race gas at the track.

Terry, curious when you think you will have the "isolated boost" stuff will be done....I can't wait for his, when I get my RB's here in a week I will do the 2step and map 7 but that isolated boost sounds just awesome!!

+1,
but i would dare with 50% E85 + 100 octan fuel here (EU), since that also has a few % Methanol and a few % Ethanol here.

Wish there was another way for flashing.I'm getting the g5 looks like Thursday.I don't feel like spending 800 for a Cobb just for that.
How about if someone else had a Cobb.could I get it flashed if Cobb is on another car for me?I have e85 here.wonder if it's beneficial.

If you want to run the flash you need the AP... We carry them and can beat any price on them if you need but it only works on one car at a time.

So I understand with Cobb ap flash you can run a higher e85 in car? Without a flash with e85 with jb4 G5 what's the difference? Is there a limit waste of e85 without a flash? Can I run a 30/40% e85 & see same performance as opposed to with a flash?

With the Cobb flash I would suggest upgraded turbos because with E85 without a flash you are at the limit of the stock turbos (17-18.5) but with upgraded turbos (RB's) you can run higher boost but will need higher octane for higher boost targets and that is where the Cobb comes in to play. The Cobb helps with higher fueling to reduce fuel codes/problems.

can we buy any accesport like for example one from a subaru or something and make it work or do we need a specific one for a BMW? Im assuming it would work because its just a flashloader through the OBD

Ahh ok so really a flash is beneficial to upgraded turbo not stock turbo then.

I would say it s a benefit if you are having fuel codes/ fuel problems. I was hoping to do it with my stock turbos but I am getting RB's so I most definetly going to do it.

found this so it answers my question
The back end flash will likely be worth 0hp on stock turbos + meth.
Where it can benefit is those running E85 with stock turbos, where fuel trims are maxed out holding back performance.

Yep, and this with larger turbos requiring higher octane.

Octane is not directly related to the size of the turbo... There are too many factors. Those guys run low compression pistons for example.

I aint a expert, but the flash with the JB4 G5 on stock turbos seems like overkill and not needed.
I run 30-40% E85 mix and i first hard problems of hitting limp at WOT 3rd into 4th.. I shut off auto open loop and the car runs great..
So i guess it for guys who want to run crazy amount of E85 on stock turbos?
