Most of them are for diagnostics only and not for general public use. Ones we want people to know about we put in the firmware notes.

Just got my G5 installed. Wow that was 30 minutes happily spent.
The power is smoother and my PWM is much lower now to achieve the same boost. it seems like it's just better managed.
So far everytime I've tried to log a long WOT to get a good looking curve to show everyone, I get wheel spin as boost hits 17 psi in 3rd (roughly 3500 rpm). This is on 8.4" wide V12 Hankooks on dry concrete (35/65 E85/93).
Also, no codes after a couple days and so far no serious wastegate rattle!

Interface Feature Request: Linux -

Terry et al,
Any chance you'll make linux and mac executable versions of your JB4 interface?
All the cool people use linux or mac (freeBSD) these days.

Still wondering when the world is going to realize that the once cheap hankook ventus Evo v12s are terrible for a high hp car.... Lol
With a g5 you should get a pair a proper set of rubber!

Fair enough. You can blame TireRack. They gave them high marks for dry traction.
Still though, they are better than stock run-craps. And yes, they were cheap.
I am looking to get nice and wide 19's someday (when my wife isn't looking). Then I'll rethink my 'rubber'.

Running Michelin pilot super sports, and they seem to almost be just a little better then the stock run flat in terms of straightline traction. I spin em either way in second. A little more grip i guess but i was expecting more.

Yes, PS2's & PSS's are awesome on the twisties, but a bit disappointing for straight line.
I still wouldn't mention them in the same sentence w/ run flats.

Waiting for my G5 board to test this new map, damn USPS
After paying $9 a gallon for race gas, I think I'm in love with E85...

A Log -
09-22-2012, 11:37 AM
This was done on a rather steep uphill with some slight rolling bumps. Just enough to make sure I never got much traction for too long.
I turned off traction control, so this is the e-diff. I like the e-diff personally.
This is 3rd gear.
Some meaningful numbers from the csv:
time = 112.5 sec :: 2500 rpm = 40 mph (78 percent pedal, 7.4 psi boost, 11 psi target)
time = 112.8 sec :: 2650 rpm WOT and 9.4 psi boost (target == 15)
time = 113.3 sec :: 3075 rpm target 15.3 psi hit
time = 117.0 sec :: 5563 rpm == 89 mph lift pedal

I've been told leaded race gas will tear up O2 sensors pretty quickly. I've ran a mixture of it a couple times. No O2 issues. I'm sure it'll be fast though. LOL

That's why unleaded race gas should be used rather than leaded race gas.

Don't know any tires great at both.
After all you have a bimmer so you should have seperate wheels & tires for the street, track & winter plus a set of drag radials for the strip.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but what exactly is isolated boost?

I would say that isolated boost means that the G5 will be able to set any boost totally independet from the DME's requrements. I think this will allow the G5 to set high boost even if the DME thinks its not possible.

I'm sure it won't cause any problems on short term, i guess you don't use it every morning.

I can't push the pedal past 60 percent in 2nd for more than a second anywhere above 3000 rpm without seeing the nagging yellow light.
It's a good way to test the e-diff though when you turn off traction control!

The price should be the least of your worries. You shouldn't be running that gas in your car even if it's $.01 per gallon. With leaded gas, you will end up paying for 4 new O2 sensors and having to go through the hassle of replacing them all.

Does the G5 firmware have the same small update to reduce 29F2 codes with E85 mixtures as the G4?
