Default Clutch setup for 500+torque - 05-20-2015, 10:27 PM

ok so I just recently upgraded to the MHD e60 flash tune and the stock clutch is not liking the power whatsoever in 4th+ gear. What setup are you guys running? Anyone running a clutchmasters? What about act? I know spec 2 is very popular as well. Also what flywheel are you guys running and what kind of power are you putting down? I'm looking for a heavier clutch but still want it to be my DD. Future mods are RBs most likely as well.

335is clutch holding it just fine here for a bit. Have a buddy pushing 600+ to the wheels with this same clutch for 50,000+ now too on a SMFW.

I recommend the mFactory SMFW + 550i clutch. I am running it now, and it is fully broken in. Chatter at idle is very minimal, I only can hear it with the AC on. 1k - 3k rpm light accel chatter isn't too bad either. Mine is amplified by my Rogue trans mounts. With stock mounts I believe it wouldn't be noticeable.

What flywheel are you guys running with the 335is clutch?

Currently stock DMFW, but that's only cause I've added power since getting the clutch. I should be running with a SMFW, which i'd go with the one from SPEC.

The mFactory one is nicer, in my opinion.

I have the spec SMFW and the 335is/550i clutch. It works great, but if I were to do it again I'd try the MFactory. Reports are that it's quieter... not sure how but I'd give it a go. The spec is pretty loud, I'm used to it now though. I think the MFactory is cheaper too.

Also in for a clutch (and or flywheel) upgrade after last weekend's drag racing roasted min.

Anyone got some info and part numbers for the 335is/550i setup?

Weirdly enough I came across your blog when I found the part number on RealOEM and then googled it. Great read so far

I have a Clutchmasters 880 twin disk. Absolutely bulletproof and loud as crap. Took some of the chatter out but still turns heads at a stop light. ZERO friction zone, I mean ZERO. took the CDV valve out. On/Off clutch. Luckily I don't find a whole lot of stop and go traffic around here. Great experience so far, and no one can steal you car because its a pain in the ass to drive. *supposed to be good to 800HP
