-Stainless Wastegate Components Upgrade
-Clipped Turbine
-Thrust upgrade
-Turbine seal upgrade

We would build them as above at a set price. We also have a way to sneak some extra power and flow out of the small stock turbine wheel beyond the clip. We could apply it as standard. I like it. What price point would you guys be after for the above?

Awesome! Glad you like the idea. I would see your list as a ~Stage 1 turbo. Forgive me for comparing to other vendors, but if you're looking for a price point Hexon and VTT offer similar setups for around $1500. Around that area yet competitive would be great.

My original thought was something even more OEM-like... just a solid rebuild, inspection, balance, along with fixing the OEM issues such as the rattling wastegates and maybe including a thrust upgrade, but keep the stock compressor and turbine. VTT offers something like this. And I spoke with another vendor and they are coming out with something exactly like this (with clipped turbines). I won't mention their name because it's not released yet. Price point was below Stage 1, obviously.

There's plenty of us out there who are happy with our OEM-sized turbos, but want something more reliable or just a solid rebuild. Also, with the power limitations of the 6AT, Stage 2 turbos would be very underutilized.

Just a thought.

I would pay $100 or so more to get them from Pure just for piece of mind knowing they would be reliable. I will be in the market for stage 1's and inlets for my car in the next couple of months when it finally warms up.

Piece of mind is great, but remember with Pure you're also paying for quality and craftsmanship..

The 6AT works well with our Stg2. I think the main reason to consider Stg1 turbos is simply price. If you have a weak trans, for stg2 turbos you can always lower the boost in the torque peak and taper up towards redline to prevent slipping. Just tune your power delivery to complement the trans. We have a rebuilt stock trans in our shop car 135i N54 AT. It rips, doesn't slip, and is a blast to drive. I love the N54 6AT drivetrain. Hard to beat for the money. The M4 and M6 have been sitting in the dust while I've been DD the 135i. lol

For the Stg1 turbos, looks like they range from $1500 to $2000 depending on the options you add. Ours would come loaded, all options. We could probably pull it off for $1799 + core.

What about an even cheaper option, using the stock compressor wheel? Might not be worth your time, but a solid rebuild with fixes for the OEM flaws would sell well I think. Not many (if any) companies doing this at the moment.

Or perhaps allowing customers to order their turbos "a la carte", where they can customize them based on their budget and what they feel is important?

Sounds like you guys are pretty flexible either way. That is awesome, and refreshing!

Yup, the Hexon stage 1 comes with billet comp wheel for $1400 I think, the VTT Stage 1 is $1400 with a cast comp wheel, billet comp wheel is another $300 so $1700. I think $1500 fits right in there with the others especially if the billet wheel is standard.

You're right, Hexon's Stage 1 are $1499 and come with the same options as what Pure proposed for their Stage 1's. I have yet to hear anything bad about Hexon, although their N54 turbos haven't been around for quite as long.

That's a question for Steve @ BMS/Fuel-It!

I just shared his video.

I'm still waiting for mine to replace my smoking stockers.

I would be extremely interested in a stg1 reliable upgrade. Maybe ~500whp on 93 and ~550whp on E85 mix, (E50). Looking to get the 335is clutch, not have TBI/Port injection! Just FBO with inlets and LPFP upgrade.

Have anybody upgraded their oil cooler, or will the stock oil cooler be efficient for appox. 650hp? Is there even PS2 on the road yet?
