I'm hoping so. Finding a shop that will install around where I live will be a challenge.

After RBs, I've vowed to just by a 2nd car and start again.

This one will be dedicated for track racing.

I know this varies widely but, can anyone give me an idea of what the install costs on upgraded turbos? Thanks.

I would also like to know this. Ocean, I will probably use the shop you did in LI, so if you could give me the break down that would be great.

I don't plan on doing the RB's until late this year or sometime next year, depending on whether Rob has another group buy in October. But I did get the FMIC from ER, so the only things I have left to do before the turbos are the Cobb upgrade and coilovers.

I paid $1,200, but you also need to get the turbo replacement kit which is $300. I got it from ECS Tuning. It's all the seals, gaskets, bolts, hoses, etc. Always a good idea to get all new mounting parts, especially if you have some age/miles on the engine.
It's a good 8-10 hr job for an experienced tech with an assistant. For 535 add 50% as there is much less room to work with.

I think the price varies a LOT based on the knowledge of the shop. Some shops have done it before and can give a good estimate, others aren't sure, so just give "book time". Ends up being a lot more.

Here in the SF Bay Area I have had quotes of $1000, $1500 and $2200.

And the ECS tuning kit. I think it's about $300 n change to replace everything. I'm a little more into preventative maintenance than some, so like to change old parts out whenever I get the chance.

Yes, no issues with the auto 6 speed ZF.
I would recommend limiting boost in 1st gear, maybe cap it at 9 or 10 psi.
I also set my boost shift reduction to 75.
These are some of the little things that may save the tranny over time. Plus being in sync with the car and not putting violent stress on it with poor downshifts or gear selection etc. Once you are in 3rd gear it is pretty bullet proof.

That's a great idea. Suggest you add the PCV valve to those who don't already have it.

Yeah, probably not a bad idea either. I am going through a new web design (well overdue) so will have some options in there to add the basic gaskets (+$230) and pcv valve (+$35) with turbo purchase.
