JB4 and MHD are tools used to tune. The application of their capabilities to achieve a desired tune sure seems like a tool to me. An OTS tune doesn't always perform the same for every car and parameters may need to be adjusted. The same goes for both products. In many cases the use of both together can achieve the best results.
I would prefer to try and resolve without removing the JB4 if possible, but it seems I'm the only person having this issue. It's really quite bad. I can mitigate it a bit if I take my foot off the throttle completely when changing up, but that doesn't really work with an automatic.

I've never been able to get a reliable tune from this car. JB4 on map 5 just gives me 30FF/EML with WOT, and now the MHD back-end flash is doing this

It did for me, but I found it begins to foul the plugs after a while. Easy to clean them off with a full WOT pull; but it affected part-throttle drivability for me. So I turned it off.

Ok. I've flashed back to stock through MHD and gear changes are ok now, running the JB4 on map 5. Weird one.

I would like to resolve as obviously I've paid for the MHD app etc.

So just to reiterate, using the MHD pump gas JB4 backend flash on a 2007 AT 335i. Any gear change upwards at anything like full throttle results in a horrible cut in power for a split second.

Any thoughts before I give up?!

Thanks in advance.

you 100% sure you're using an actual Back end flash? and not a regular flash only map?

Nope! I didn't even know that option existed. I'm assuming it has been added in a recent firmware?

I'll go and try it now. If it solves my problem I will give you a massive bear hug.

Turns out I should read a bit more before jumping in to these things!

Gear-changes are now much better. I wouldn't say perfect but I only had a quick spin around the block to test.

I'll test properly tomorrow and report back.

Thanks for your help.

you can also check your logs to see if that due to overboost on gear change oh may increase you shift reduction from 60 to 65 or 70 and see which reduce the overboost.

Anyhow make sure to have couple of 3rd gear 2500 rpm to WOT to make sure your car and JB4 auto learn your car

Good luck and be safe

Adjust the flash options before confirming the actual flashing of your map.

Possible silly question.

I am running the MHD with just BEF and my JB4.

BUT... I cannot access the option area where exhaust burbles etc... may be.

I take it this is not a possibility on a BEF?

Thanks

Option button works, but you have to have the new versions of the MHD app. Reflashed my car today.

I 100% get burbles while reving in neutral right now. You have to rev to like 3-4k and let off. I'm set to 5 seconds of aggressive, but that will be changing soon, just too much to keep daily driving it that way.

Is there consensus that burble mode does in fact foul the plugs? I'll probably be switching to 1 second or so of aggressive burble.

I set base to 0 and sports to aggressive. Pull up next to Mr Officer and switch to base, no more burble lol.

That is odd.

I have the latest MHD app and flashed it with the latest JB4 BEF. But still no options...

I have mhd jb4 bef race on my car. Dyno next monday. Test with ms109 and e30+ meth...after I want test e50+....I will need jb4 bef e85.

My question... For reflash I must flash stock before or I can flash directly with e85 flash. And take 38 minutes again?

Thanks

And I will post all my result with my hexon rr600

Hello all, my 135 has been down for a couple months now. I've done everything possible to cure a major misfire (drops cylinder totally) on Cyl.#1 (only). Runs fine, drops cylinder, back to running fine. No carbon problem, and compression 177-180 on all 6 cylinders. I just sent my DME off to RPM Autosports to program a used one.

My question is how will I install my existing MHD flash system into the new DME? Is it transferable? My VIN number will stay the same of course. Can I simply hook up my tablet and flash a selected map, or do I have to go through the initial longer flashing process again? Many thanks.

PS: I will be reinstalling my JB4 again for the features and benefits.

UPDATE: After I installed the replacement DME, I have No more codes, No more misfires, No more suicide thoughts. After all of the money, months of work, headaches, sleepless nights, research, down time ... it was the DME all the time. It's the best $600 I've ever spent. Thank you Chris at RPM Autosports.

You just flash the new bin and it's 2 min, you don't need flash back to stock
