Default MK7 manual Golf R. Firmware update failed. - 07-04-2019, 07:13 AM

I was trying to download the newest firmware update since my jb4 would no read codes. Now I'm stuck in a repetitive message that says "update failed, restarting..." Car is stuck at the gym, tried so much that the battery is almost dead. I do not know what do anymore, It's very annoying.

Make sure your Bluetooth is not connected to the media inside the car or any other devices.

Okay will try that in a little bit. However is this a correct firmware that I have chosen?

Make sure key is on engine not idling. Grab one of the other software versions from post 4 here and see if it loads.

Push to start button was clicked once. So dashboard is on but not the engine. Bluetooth devices turned off. Tried all newest files from page 14 and all three from the first 4 posts. Battery had drained and now I need to get a battery charger . What am I missing?

If Im inside car I have same problem if I stand near JB4 in front car it upload normaly... JB4 app show dials and log normaly inside car so this is not real indicator that BT connection is 100% ok.

I have followed all direction. I even removed the jb4 and installed the device again. Deleted and downloaded app, and restarted phone. I have stood right by the jb4 3 centimeters away and same issue. My last and only question is, could it be my phone that is not good for firmware update. I have a 1+ 6T phone. Is this is not a problem, is the jb4 exchangeable for another one?

Haven't seen a specific handset have a issue but could be possibility. Does the JB4 have firmware loaded on it now? i.e. car drives fine. For ongoing support best to start emailing me at George@burgertuning.com .

Hallo,

My Golf R has no unstable idle with this new firmware. In German says "läuft super cool" :-)

As the performance development is, I must measure it. It definitely feels very clean and really fast.

Thank you Gorge for your efforts you always make! Is a very great service that you guys offer us, I do not know a company in the scene only in the approach this enthusiasm in the day .... Thank you again!

greetings

I don't have 93 Octane available to me so I am currently running Map 1.
I know there is no boost at 1500 RPM in this Map, but I am wondering if it would hurt to switch to Map 6 with Map 1 values, but change the boost of 0 at 1500 RPM to 1 instead?

I ask because I would like to feel some extra power during regular driving.

Would a down pipe and a K&N drop in filter be enough for a 8V Audi S3 to run Map 2? I guess this brings me to the next question, will JB4 eliminate any CEL that comes with a down pipe install? Thanks guys!

I bought a $12 o2 sensor spacer from amazon. Haven't had a CEL in 2 years. do it!

Yes, you can raise the amount low down at 1500rpm. Typically the ECU is at max boost at this point so it wont really make a difference as the turbo physically cannot spool fast enough to add anymore boost.

Hi,

I install Jb4 BT Kit in the moment... There are 2 red wire in JB4, which one should I select?

Quick one here, I'm sure it's totally unrelated, but fitted a Res delete the other day, ever since I've been getting throttle closure spikes, mainly in 3rd gear lower down the rev range, last one I logged was 3730rpm, I can then do another pull immediately after and it's fine? Leon Cupra 300 dsg, gotta admit I'm sure I had TC still fully turned on!

It could be TC related but its not uncommon for the ECU to close the throttle to assist with boost control. It is oversized and when it happens you most likely cannot feel any difference. The only time its concerning if there is a major difference between boost and boost 2 in the logs which is pre throttle and intake manifold boost.

That's the thing it was brought to my attention because the car was jerking, similar to a misfire, luckily I was logging at the time, at that exact time it drops to 60%throttle! Looking now there is a 1psi difference between boost and boost2, apart from that the log looks perfectly normal!

Just popped out there and did 4 logs and they were all spot on, 3rd and 4th gear and a mix of both!

One thing to note is for a day I had to run the car with an open ******** as the wrong Res delete got sent, it was during this driving the car started to feel odd, of course I'm childish and did a few pulls with it like that, could this of affected anything?

Either way it seems to be running as good as always now, hell, even pulled car lengths on an M2 last night!
