TREBILA Performance S55 M2, M3 and M4 Custom flash and full JB4 support -
01-21-2018, 05:34 AM
Now that the S55 M2, M3 and M4 can be flashed with MHD flasher, I'd be glad to work on them, as always, stacked with JB4.
I've been working on N54 and N55 E series custom tuning for years now ( http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33175 ), recently on N55 F series ( http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51312 ), now that MHD released the N55/S55 F series flasher.
N55 E series share most of the maps with N55 F series and S55.
If you're interested to get custom tuned (flash + JB4 settings) your M S55 F serie, send me a PM

We'll use the same tune between E70 and E85, probably.
or only minor tweaks will be needed.

the highest tried yet is E70, and no issue so far.
next step is E85, waiting for logs, actually.

My mods are in my signature and I don’t mind sharing dyno sheet. I’m attaching it. My actual numbers are a lil bit higher than this tho because the fan was messed up at the dyno so my intake temps were high.

Graph looks really good. I like how the power band doesn't dip hard after 6.2K. Thank you for sharing! This was on E70 or full E85?

Very nice! Any drivetrain malfunctions with that much torque? If so, how do you fix it?

I've had highly unsatisfactory results with a custom S55 - E85 tune from Trebila. I have nothing personal against David. In fact, he seems to be a good guy, but there's a no refund policy, so I definitely recommend spending your money on a more established and reputable S55 tuner.
I'll be writing a full review on his tune soon, along with all the issues I've had to face. To sum things up, the BMS BEF that David said he could improve upon offered way more performance, features, and reliability.

Hi Nars
Sorry if you're not satisfied with the custom tuning job we started, but unfortunately never finished.
I think we misunderstood at the beginning.
you were looking for a straight E85 tune for your M4, and I understood you were looking for highest performance, on Ethanol blends like E70.
of course, using straight E85 on high boost with this engine induce HPFP drop / misfire, which you experienced.
this is certainly what you're reffering too.
when we actually worked on the straight E85 tune, we were facing an HPFP limitation, so I asked you to lower boost targets, but I never got answer from you since.

David, one of the things I've noticed throughout our entire interaction is your lack of attention to detail, like this response for example.
This is a thread about a custom BEF solution for the F8x S55, but yet you believe I have an N54. Perhaps, this is because the N54/N55 platform truly is your specialty.
If I may suggest keeping a basic documentation of your clients' profile to avoid any confusion. Not that it matters, but I'm not sure how many times you referred to my vehicle as an M4, when I kept saying it's an M3 Competition Package.
Again, I'll be writing a full review when I have the time. The reason why I decided not to continue on with the custom BEF is, because after comparing your 6th BEF revision against BMS's E85 (OTS) BEF, the BMS BEF proved to be superior in terms of performance and reliability using the same exact Map 6 values.

lol, I wrote N54, because this is the majority of my customer's cars, of course I was talking about your S55.
just corrected the typo in my post.
and M4 or M3, engine is exactly the same, tuning is exactly the same, competition package or not..
I hope you'll get what you're looking for with another tuner.

My suggestion would be to be more careful with typos, especially when people are paying you good money. That's one easy way for your customers to question your knowledge and abilities.
Let's take Terry's professionalism as an example since you essentially use his BEFs as a baseline for your custom maps. He is much busier with business operations than a good majority of e-tuners out there, but when was the last time you seen him make a simple technical typo when responding to thousands of his customers?
Also, I did get what I want with another OTS tune by running a 10.953@127.13mph with 70% humidity. I believe the best run I was able to do with your BEFs was around 11.9 secs or higher all while limping to the finish line with just about every pass attempt. Having spent 2-3 months with your tune really made me feel like there was something wrong with my car, and was leaning towards replacing the coilpacks and injectors...
You don't have to take my word for it, but you're actually wrong about the ZCP vs non-ZCP differences, as well as, N54/N55 vs S55 tuning differences. However, I'll let you figure that part out on your own since you're the professional tuner (I'm not). Although, this probably explains why you couldn't figure out how the OEM burbles and start-up roar disappeared as soon as I flashed over to your BEFs. From what I recall, your resolution course was to point the finger at MHD settings and copying the BMS BEF values without success.
For the last time, I'll be writing a full review (have way too much info) of my tuning experience when I have the time.
