Hello friends, I Had JB4 on my last car (BMW320i) installed on my own easily with your guides. Now I bought a VW Jetta GLI 2020, and I have some questions that I hope you guys could help me answering, before buying my new JB.
1) what is the difference between JB1 and JB4. Considering I just plan to put another air intake and no DP. Would there be any advantage of JB4 in a car without DP?
2) Which map should I use for Brazilian gasoline? Would JB1 be compatible? [BR Gas is similar E30 i suppose)
3) Is there any considerable difference in the installation, comparing the BMW with the VW Jetta GLI?
Thank you

Your 2020 Jetta GLI does not have a Gen3B motor but a normal Gen3 so this unit is compatible: https://burgertuning.com/collections...vw-ea888-tuner
The JB4 is more advanced and connects to the vehicle data network where it receives more engine parameters to do its mapping. This gives the unit the advantage to not only control boost per rpm like the JB1 but also per gear so you can dial in some traction in the earlier gears. The unit also has*higher fueling range that allows more boost at high rpm. It has fault reading capability and can also conduct full logging. It is a bit harder to install due to the OBD wire going into the cabin.
Both JB1 and JB4 will work on our gas. For DSG you can use both map 2 and 3 and for a manual map 3.
You can download the install guides on the link above and get a idea.

Hi George,
Looking to fit one of these to my Volkswagen Polo Hatchback Spec ED 2.0 TSI 207 GTI+ 5dr DSG. I believe this means it has the OPF fitted, 207hp and the 7 speed DSG? Is this box still suitable to install and what map (and gains) can be expected? The car has yet to arrive but will be factory minus an induction kit.

There wont be a issue with the OPF version.
Gains should be 45hp and 50ft lbs.

On 95ron you can run map 2 in cooler temps and map 1 in summer.
On 98Ron map 3.

What gains would you expect from a Polo gti (Pre-opf) with the following mods and 99RON fuel:
Wagner Intercooler
Pannel filter
BMS turbo elbow
*** back exhaust
Using a map 6 to get the most out of it?

It will make most power in map 3. We usually use map 6 on these if the car needs the boost to get tapered at higher rpm.
I would say 50hp comfortably.

Would it not be possible to go further with map6 or is there some limitations which is why you'd stick with map3?

We can always check logs and see if it allows for more. We had a AW Polo GTI for about a year and I tested all combinations and found power delivery in map 3 to be most stable. The ECU is very sensitive when intake temps go up on this ECU, the cooler will help a lot though.

Had a question about the OBD2 plug. Can you run a splitter off this and still run bluetooth scanner? or what is the behavior if the OBD2 plug is unplugged from time to time (does it behave like stock when unplugged?)

You cannot, it slows down the data stream too much and the JB4 wont work as it should.

Hi George, will this JB4 Gen3B work for Audi A4 B9FL 2.0 150hp 35 TFSI? The tuners claim that this is a strangled 190ls Gen3b.

Hi,
Yes, we have fitted them to it and its compatible. You can run slightly more aggressive maps so go map 3 and if you want more run some logs and email me at george@burgertuning.com .

Hi George, will the Jb4 Gen3b work on the Skoda Octavia Mk4 NX 2022y with the new MQB Evo platform? Octavia is not listed so there are doubts.
