Lambo "e gear" through tuning? -
04-02-2020, 06:33 PM
Pardon me if this is a dumb idea. Since yesterday MHD released a stand still burble update for us, I am interested in revving out in neutral while rolling the way supercars do.
Is it possible to do this through tuning?
Maybe even deleting D MODE and tricking the TCU to think D MODE is neutral?

Seems the new MHD burble feature released few days ago works only on P and not in N and the normal burble on the specific rpm you set on the D,
Maybe send email to MHD and ask him if he can let you use it on N instead of D or if he can add it as check box to his options

Good idea. I contacted xhp and a custom TCU tuner and they both said it would be very difficult. Xhp said they are looking into it but it would take some time to develop.
And I would swear that I am getting pretty hard burbles in neutral. I'll have to test it out tomorrow

As I said
Put it in neutral
Even IFFFFF, you trick the tcu to put in neutral while actually in D mode.....what the hell do you think you are doing ?????????
Putting it in neutral ....or am I mistaken ?
Drive down the street around 30mph or whatever, put in neutral, do your revs, put back in drive. The trans will know what gear to go back in to. Its not like it will downshift to 1st or anythng like that.
Kinda a dumb idea as you said in 1st post (IMO), BUT, I already told you in my first response.......you want neutral, put it in neutral for fux sake.

It always makes me laugh when people talk aggressively on the internet. So easy to say nothing at all. I wish you well

Like THE Beast said, and let the rpm go down to idle before putting it to D.

Get it up to 7k in D and slam it into P. Should get the noise you are looking for. Skip reving in N.

This and a previous post suggest that MHD had configured N the same as P.
You can e-mail to confirm, but if you have the expected results, seems you're there.
I and my customers (non-automotive) tend to chase after the most complicated way of doing things too.
That's why I always focus on 'what their end goal is', rather than their, 'can i do this to get this?'.
With the end-goal understood, Neutral is the solution.
