Chasing down surging issue from 3000-4000 rpm -
11-24-2016, 12:00 PM
I'm chasing down a surging issue I started getting a few weeks after installing dp's. So far I've verified that the grey wires are in the passenger side pipe, that my diverters appear to be working (tested to 20psi with a syringe and air compressor. Also leak tested using the setup where you put a cap and a cap with an air fitting in the intakes. I'm getting a 2aaf code. I'm curious if this would be injectors? lpfp? I would not mind upgrading the lpfp anyway to more easily run e85. I haven't done that yet but would like to. Here are a few logs. I noticed throttle gets crazy and lpfp is a tad low, but I'm new to this but not sure. My afr looks terrible when the surges happen. The car was slow to start today, but normally isn't too bad. I've had a lean message and limp mode from the jb4. I'm running the bms intake, vrsf charge pipe, and vrsf *********. Regular 93 octane. I've walnut blasted the car about 8k ago. 08 335i 6mt, 90k on the car. Let me know what you guys think I should check next. I'm leaning lpfp, but need advice. Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving!

DP will change how the turbos make boost at low throttle settings.
Try changing.... generally lowering .... the in dash options 11 & 12.

It looks like that mostly did the trick. I do feel like it really boosts more than pedal input at 3-4K, but I can live with that. I am noticing that when I am going wot in second and shift to third it falls on it's face with no boost for a second though. Would a back end flash help? I have a bavtech cable, so is there a downside to flashing that way?
