Sadly right now that is how long the wait is. Expect the wait time to go down again as soon as I get some more parts in because I will be cranking out the kits.

Sorry I thought you were someone else.

Sounds like you are using the Windows interface. Is that correct?

You will need to refer to the appropriate thread for Windows support.

For Android users, one of my friends is going to let me use his Note for a bit tonight so I can test on that and see what is going on with those devices.

For iOS users, iOS 8 comes out tomorrow. I am putting the finishing touches on my app for it and will be uploading it hopefully tonight so it should be live in the next week. I'm getting my iPhone 6 on Friday and will be optimizing the app for that the following week.

OK so this has probably been brought up before, but is there no way at all to setup a direct connection from the JB4 USB cable to an iPhone or iPad (of course with a connection interface as we all know these devices don't have a USB outlet) and then purchase the app? I feel like there must be a way and the only reason I ask is that the wiring wouldn't bother me personally and I would want to get this setup now/soon and know there's a 1-2 month wait list for the Bluetooth option. Thanks for any insight on this!

to my knowledge iPhones can accept and interpret serial connections (software required). A physical cable *may* be able to connect to the jb4 usb via a cable with a PL2303x or FT232 USB-to-Serial chip.

From memory Pins 12 & 13 are the Tx an Rx on an dock connector.

I guess it just comes down to whether dmacpro91 can make it work on the software side.

Not going to happen for quite a few reasons.

1) My app would be rejected from the App Store for trying to use the dock connecter in an unauthorized way.

2) You *might* be able to get it to work with those old 30-pin connectors and a jailbroken device, but phones with those connectors aren't being made anymore and requiring a jailbreak is just too much to ask.

As I said in the first post, I've looked into other options, but this is all that works.

Update from my tests with Galaxy Notes:

I tested the app on 2 Notes yesterday (a Note 2 and a Note 3, both on 4.4.2). Everything worked flawlessly. I tried pulling the cable out while logging and everything and the app still did everything it was supposed to do and connected the first time, every time. So I can't figure out why some of you are having issues with connecting. Maybe it's an older OS on your device or maybe it is your OTG cable, idk. Just wanted to let everybody know my results. I have videos of the tests I might upload later, but it's not that interesting.

Took the car to the dragstrip last night, ran into a few problems. First time I've used JB4 Mobile since updating to version A033 (Android) from a release that was maybe 3 versions old. The interim updates were installed on my phone as they were released on Google Play, but I did not drive my car during that period of time. I'm also a beta tester for Android Bluetooth. Everything worked fine with (I think) version A029 using the OTG cable but was sometimes flaky with the Bluetooth connection. We had talked about that via e-mail previously.

Last night I did 8 runs at the dragstrip, and every single time the app crashed before the end of the run. I did 4 runs using Bluetooth and 4 runs using the OTG cable. Only one time did it ask to send a crash report, which I did. The other times I had to reboot my phone to get it working again. I had Wi-Fi disabled the whole time. The Bluetooth connection worked fine for the 1 hour drive to the track. Using previous versions of the software, when driving my car on a road race course I had to use OTG for the connection since Bluetooth always failed. Now neither connection type works reliably. They both seem to work fine under normal street driving conditions, but as soon as I really start hammering it things go badly.

Hope that makes sense, let me know if you have any suggestions or need more info.

I found your crash report and will release an update later today for that.

As for Bluetooth, that's just an Android thing. Sometimes the bluetooth stack crashes then you have to turn off both bluetooth and wifi to restart it. Sometimes even that doesn't work. I noticed this issue on the Note 3 I was testing. OTG worked great, but bluetooth would only connect the first time, then you had to restart the bluetooth stack after that. Hopefully the Android team will make their bluetooth stack more stable in the future. I'm going to include some kind of disclaimer in my emails so Android users who get my Bluetooth kit know of these issues.

Thanks! I'm glad the crash reports are useful and will continue sending them whenever possible.

I'll be doing my last track weekend for the year in two weeks, so will have one last change to flog it before winter.

Does the Adroid app have the other gauge type option as IOS with the bars as opposed to the dials?

I've still never been able to get the 0-60 time working.

Can you provide some clear, definitive instructions on doing so?

My process was:
Keep car at complete standstill
Recalibrate G-Force Meter
WOT Pull to 60
Check 0-60 results...nothing there.

Help!

To help dmac out, I would read the first post on how to describe your setup and your problem.

To help you out, is your GPS turned on? I had that problem on my tablet.

Are you using the connectBlue Bluetooth low energy platform module OLP425? I am curious what is the battery life of the bluetooth system. Will it last 1 year or longer? Thanks.

No I'm not. Mine doesn't use a battery. It connects to a 5V source from the car for power.

Using android with the OTG cable. GPS is on, the GPS speed variable has a value when moving. I've gone over 60mph from 0.

Yeah it actually doesn't work for me either. I've never been able to get it to work (completely). Seems to not even register that you've gone past 60 on my device. Several versions ago, I was able to get a time. But it was way off.

Honestly, I just use Torque with my external Bluetooth GPS. It works every time and is very consistent (it's 10 hz . Since dmac says it's still a work in progress, I didn't really care about complaining. I've actually tried it side by side with my android phone and tablet running simultaneously.

Hey has anyone had issues with the app freezing on all readings when not on throttle and only displays correct readings after getting on throttle again? I haven't been home to use Mt car for a week and I've noticed a couple of updates so I don't know If it's been resolved.
